This beautiful 18th century home offers holiday stays for up to 10 in spacious, well-appointed bedrooms all with bathroom facilities. Guests will be spoiled for choice with spaces to relax inside and outside the house. Dine in the walled courtyard, formerly a protestant chapel, or spend time by the salt water pool. The fully equipped kitchen will delight any chef as will the markets in this area which offer the best of the produce of this area - a well kept secret ready for you to discover. So many areas to relax and unwind inside and outside this lovely home. There is a spacious lounge area, a central area which has a desk, bookcase and piano, and walled courtyard and multiple places in the large garden. There is also a terraced area and BBQ, as well as the salt-water pool with its' paving, umbrellas and pool lounges.

A magical mansion in the wilds of the Ariège. We rented the whole house and felt lost in it with only four of us! It is a real traditional French house with everything could need, charming bedrooms, a piano to keep the musical members of the family happy, access to WiFi on the TV so we could log in with our Netflix account - and of course the pool! Perfect size, clean and cool, with sunbeds and parasols. Everything provided to enjoy it! We were lucky enough to be there for the last of the summer Friday night marchés gourmands with music and dancing late into the night - but other than that it's a sleepy village with a daily small bakery offer at Les Halles opposite, easy reach of a lovely swimming and watersports lake with a high ropes course (challenging!). Close to Montségur fort (well worth the steep walk for the views) and several supermarkets close by. Mirepoix a lovely evening destination eat out too. Thank you for the friendly welcome.
Nous avons passé presque 2 semaines de vacances à 11 dont 2 enfants et un bébé de 1 an dans cette grande maison très confortable et d'une propreté parfaite. John et Lee-Ann sont des hôtes très sympathiques, accueillants, disponibles tout en étant extrêmement discrets. Enfin, la région est très belle et très propice aux ballades et randonnées. Au final, ces vacances vont rester pour nous tous un excellent souvenir, et nous recommandons sans réserve cette belle maison.

Leran is a village of 600 situated within easy distance of many of the more notable tourist sites in this area. This includes Cathar sites, caves, mountains, chateaux, lakes and rivers. There is cycling opportunities from easy paths to mountain climbs and walking options from gentle strolls to vigorous hikes. Bike hire is available in the village As well there is a 'halle' that sells bread and pastries, fruit and vegetables, fish, meat and there is a weekly pizza van (excellent pizzas). The bar/restaurant is opposite the house. There is a post office and hairdresser. Mirepoix has a delightful Monday morning market and supermarkets, and the closest supermarket from our home is in Laroque D'Olmes and is a quick 10 minute drive. Leran also has two restaurants in this area both just a short walk from the house. There is also a restaurant at Lac Montbel.
It is best to visit this area with private transport as public transport is very limited. There is ample parking close to the property.
