Wow! What a peaceful place. Pure nature, perfect to enjoy the silence, truly outstanding. We had a great time canoeing on the lake, barbeque and chess, I will miss the view of the lake in the morning. Thanks for this unique stay!
Uvanå is set in a small hamlet which has around 12 permanent residents. It is set on the northernmost shore of a large lake surrounded by forests and areas of natural beauty. There are many walking tracks and cycling routes. There are numerous lakes in the area to visit and explore.
There is a safe bathing and picnic area just a 5 minute walk from the house.
We have 2 open canoes and life jackets and a small rowing boat with electric motor available for visitors on request.
In summer you can pick berries in the forests and see lots of wildlife. The area is home to Moose, Beavers, Lynx, wolf and brown bears! There are a number of local tour guides offering organised safaris to see moose and beavers.
It is also possible to husky dog hike if you would like to!
We have a selection of fishing rods and equipment if you like to fish. Fishing permits can be purchased locally.
The area is also great for bird watching, mushroom picking, open water swimming, visiting local craft and heritage sites. It is the perfect place to reconnect to nature, extremely peaceful and tranquil.
In winter there are a number of downhill and cross-country ski areas within a 60 minute drive of the house. If the conditions are right our neighbours may also prepare cross country skiing tracks along the lakeshore! If you fancy snow shoe hiking, ice skating or husky dog sledding let us know and we can help you organise!
The easiest way to get around this part of Sweden is to have a car or other rental vehicle as this gives you a good deal of freedom to get about.
Public transport to Uvanå is only available through pre-arranged bookings. The nearest bus station is in Hagfors (34.1km away). From there you can get a bus to Karlstad every hour or so (15/10 minutes to the hour) and from Karlstad you can get the train.
自我介绍
Hi, I live in Cambridge, England with my husband Mike. We have 2 adult sons, Sam and Tom. I have spent most of my life working as a nurse and Midwife but since 2015 I started my own business designing and making jewellery. I love the outdoors and nature, participating in different sports, swimming, cycling, hiking and canoeing! We love Sweden and try and visit several times a year. It is such a beautiful unspoilt country and I love to see it throughout all of the seasons.
