If u want to have the local holiday in tanna island ,just choose kelson to be your host /tour guide. He is so good and helpful.And also his wife pretty easygoing and nice. 这个民宿在火山边上，从住的地方走到火山脚下只要30mins，而火山团游的集合点和入口就在斜对面，走过去2mins。想要更好的火山之旅，住他家非常合适，参加完火山日落团，大部分人还得坐一个多小时车才能回酒店，而且那条山路很崎岖开夜路很危险，而你走两分钟就到家了。如果想要去不商业化的村落，可以问kelson，他会带你去西边一个更棒的村落。 我离开的时候他在建新的厕所，（老的厕所只有洗冷水澡）很快就有热水洗澡间啦。 可以联系他机场接送机。

We stayed with Kelson and his family for two nights and had a great time! It is the perfect place to see the volcano (the official entrance is just 2 min walk away and the ashplain 20 min walk). Kelson picked us up at the airport. The property is very well maintained and in good conditions. The bungalows are basic but very sweet and tidy. Kelson provides solar energy 24/7 to charge your electronical devices. There is no Wifi but its coming soon. He also provides coffee and drinking water since he has a private water connection to the river. The area and nature around is peaceful and beautiful. Breakfast is included (bread, jam, omelette, pancakes, fresh fruits) and for a surcharge they provide delicious and fresh lunch and dinner (rice, omelette, meat, fresh fruits). You can hear Mount Batur and have a good view to the summit. We highly recommend staying with Kelson and wish him and his family all the best for the future!

The stay was basic but fine. It’s quite remote and beside the proximity to the volcano there’s not much else to do. Kelson did drive us around the east side and organise a Kastom village performance and a cannibal tour which were great and good value too (1000VAV each + transport). The food his wife Joyce prepared was local and tasty (750VAV for lunch and 1000VAV for dinner). So overall pretty ok. A warning: in case you are offered an unofficial/cheaper visit of the volcano (for 6000VAV instead of 9750VAV), DO NOT fall for it! We got convinced and fell for it as the promise was we will be supporting locals and could stay on the crater top for 1-2 hours. It took us 5 hours of walking in total, most of it was walking in socks in pitch black (so we won’t be spotted by security guards), walking across the crater where most erupted rocks land and a steep descend down to the ash field. We spent 10-15 minutes on top. What a disaster! We were extremely lucky no one got hurt and next day we all took the official tour to actually spent some time on top. We did get an apology but no one offered a refund. We were scammed.
