Great location, close to many hiking trails. Quite, peaceful & an excellent stay for family. The lodge was clean with spacious rooms. Highly recommended for families.

Our extended family of 8 had a truly incredible stay at the Hunting Lodge. In our group were two grandparents, two parents, and four children aged 2-11. The highlight of the property for us was definitely the beautiful and private pine forest and extensive trail network out the back door. The pine forest is unlike anything I've seen before - it's filled with mature pine trails and the ground is covered with moss, low shrubs and pine needles. The smell of pine and the quiet sound of footsteps on moss and pine needles was very peaceful. The children loved running and playing in the forest while the adults could sip coffee or wine and observe them from the back garden. The trails through the forest also connect into an extensive network of hiking and cycling trails. We rented bikes in Kingussie and went riding every day, never having to repeat same route twice. Our longest day was > 20 km with 400 meters of elevation and some incredible views over Uath Lochans. If you visit with kids, definitely ask for the location of the "hidden swing", which our kids loved! You will have complete privacy on the grounds as the nearest house is down the road and not visible through the trees. The house itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a great stay. The massive "annex" bedroom with private ensuite was perfect for gran and grandad to have a bit of peace away from the children. Upstairs was perfect for mom, dad and the kids with two gorgeous and huge bedrooms and a 3rd smaller bedroom. The open concept dining room and living room with a small attached outdoor patio was a very comfortable space to relax and enjoy dinner together at the end of the day. The long dining table was perfect for family dinners and the leather couches were very comfortable for kicking back and watching some Netflix or the flames of the wood stove. Nick was a fabulous host who always responded very quickly, helped us find bike rentals and even hand-drew a map to help us find the best mountain biking trails nearby! The only downside was that the internet was quite unreliable during our stay. It didn't interfere with our enjoyment since we were there to enjoy nature (in fact you might say that it was a good thing!) but I would be wary of relying on it for any serious work. Overall a great host, a very unique and special property and we hope to come back some day!

This is a fantastic place for some peace and quiet in the countryside. The lodge is big, and fully equipped, even the wifi works if you need it. Well placed for biking trails and only a short car ride from Kingussie. It’s more of a cosy home than your average lodge, and a lot bigger.

Super chalet, very warm, clean and comfortable. We had a lovely time and appreciated the welcome note and all the detailed touches right down to a torch left on the door for a night time arrival. Very attentive host and it felt like a real home from home. Wonderful location for walking and other activities, right from the door, feels wonderfully remote but is still near enough the local shops to be practical. Looking forward to returning - many thanks indeed.
