This peaceful spot in the woods is a short drive from Raquette Lake and the towns of Inlet and Old Forge. My partner and I visited in early October for leaf peeping, kayaking, and hiking, and had a wonderful time. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances and tools needed for cooking, the wi-fi worked well, and there's an extensive BlueRay collection in the living room. The host sent helpful instructions before we left (like: be sure to bring linens) and answered all my questions quickly. I would definitely stay here again.

Brian's cabin house is a very nice, comfortable clean place. My fishing buddy and I rented Brian's place because it was located less than 1/4 mile (two minute drive, 7 minute walk) from Raquette Lake and there was plenty of space to park our boat and trailer at the house. The house was spacious, with nice comfortable furniture and had many other amenities including WIFI. Having WIFI in such a remote location was great and was nice for streaming TV shows in the evening after fishing all day. The house is located in a private wooded development with other cabins / houses and there are deer all around the property. The road leading to the house is a dirt road and a little bumpy, so use caution when traveling the road at night. Brian's place would be great for families because it is spacious and near some local attractions. I would definitely rent this place from Brian the next time I plan on fishing Raquette Lake.

Third time staying at this awesome 3 BR house and the internet was a newly welcome surprise bonus. This house has everything you'll need for a great time in the ADK and Brian is a super responsive and helpful host.

Brian was very accommodating and responded quickly to issues upon check in. We appreciated all the USB charging stations throughout the house. That being said, we were very disappointed in the house. It has so much potential, but not much attention to detail. The doors to every room stuck so bad it almost took two hands to open them...made it difficult to get up early without waking each other. Several windows wouldn't open, preventing us from creating a cross-breeze. The TV never worked - it displayed "no connection" even though you could hear the Blu-Ray playing (to be fair I never called him about this - I didn't want to spend time communicating, I wanted to relax). The front door had to be kept closed because the storm door had gaps so large it would let all kinds of bugs and mosquitos in. We never got to use the grill because it was rusted so bad. The front door was also a safety concern. The doorknob is so hard to unlock and turn that if a fire broke out it would delay exiting.
