Mermaids rest is a true gem. We felt like home, the place was extremely clean and cosy, we had regular visits from the squirrels so our son was very excited. The place has everything you need from kitchen utensils to children's toys. It is quiet and peaceful, there is a woodland walk around the area and the holiday village also offers lots of things to do. Tina has been very responsive and overall an amazing host. The phone signal can be hit or miss, depending on your provider or location in the house. There is coverage by the living room window and outside. We weren't bothered, as we only needed it for Google maps and keeping in touch with family. We would highly recommend this for a little family or small group of friends getaway.

How do I start…?! As soon as we got to Mermaid Rest, our 5 and 3 years old daughters said “Oh my god! This is amazing!” Yes, this place is such a lovely place for families like us! 10 minutes drive to St Ives, which is the best location. There is no signal, but we had an amazing time without using our phones! Watched DVDs, played some games, no issues at all!

Our family stayed at Mermaids Rest to celebrate our daughter’s Birthday’s and see in the New Year! The Bungalow is very well kept and had all the little added extras to make a family stay comfortable. The Mermaid theme went down well with our girls and the surrounding Woodlands provides a nice trail to immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the fresh air of Cornwall. The accommodation is very close to nearby supermarkets and a short drive from a few local beaches and child friendly activities like soft play and an animal sanctuary. Tina was a responsive host and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. We would definitely stay again if we plan another trip to St Ives.
