Gigi had picked out a very tranquil mooring for me, but still only 15mins walk to the town. Both she & John were very warm & welcoming, with a wealth of knowledge about local walks & the best places to eat & drink. The kitchen was surprisingly well equipped - I easily cooked for myself every evening. Power comes via 12 V USBs - no trouble charging tablets, phones etc but there's not much of a signal so read a book instead. The beds was super comfortable and I slept like a log, but you do need a certain agility to get into bed if they are pushed together as a double. The shower and toilet are tiny at first glance but I'm 6' 2" & had no issues whatever. Bring: (head)torch; slippers; a good book; binoculars. Don't bring: laptop/tech stuff; food supplies - there’s a large Tesco right on the canal bank. Leave your stresses & anxieties behind too. I have never stayed on a boat before - I think it took me all of an hour to adjust to a simple life, and realise that sometimes less is more.

We booked baby boat for my birthday weekend. The location was very convenient (@ Rickmansworth grand union canal ) with close by parking and Gigi allowed our two sausage dogs to come as well. Communication was faultless and the boat was exactly as described in the listing. My partner and I are very comfortable in each others company however I can see the tiny space maybe a challenge for some as one has to wait until one person finishes in the bedroom/kitchen/ bathroom before moving, as it’s is very narrow. The amenities were as described with all power, water and heating being off grid, meaning one has to be mindful about usage, having said that there was no shortage of anything and actually I have not been so toasty warm in a long time thanks to the brilliantly cozy coal burner! There were plenty of nature walks nearby and we ventured into London for the day too, Rickmansworth having direct access into central London via the metropolitan line. We would definitely stay again!

I'm no boater but I wouldn't have called this a baby boat, plenty of room for two, the Rickmansworth location was amazing for cycling and exploring. Gigi the host went above and beyond for our comfort and enjoyment of her boat

The narrow-boat offers a different and good experience for overnight stay. Our location was at Grand Union Canal, Rickmanshare Herts, for four nights. The boat provides well enough space for two adults and one luggage without problems, please note that a boat is "just" a boat, so the stay cannot be compared to hotel, dimensions are smaller. However I am 192cm (6 feet 3") tall and managed well :) Facilities include fridge, warm water, gas stove & oven etc all working well. Boat was clean, but as all boats at canal, it is not new, so you cannot expect all surfaces being shiny. Staying in a boat provides totally different, refreshing experience, which was very nice to us ending our trip. Gigi is friendly, helpful and warm host, with whom the communication was easy, and made us feel v.comfortable.

Lovely baby boat! We took bicycles up with us and had a lovely time exploring the tow paths and Cassiobury Park in Watford - who would have thought Watford would be so green and interesting? Nice community feel. The boat is very compact but it really doesn't matter if you are out and about all day. Also very confortable. Shower is tiny but how often do you really need to wash your whole body? Toilet - well you learn fast what works for you! We'd be delighted to go back.
