good host and decent place if u need to commute to london its a good plave to stay
We were very grateful to to be able to rent the apartment for our Xmas stay near my sister as there is very little dog friendly accommodation in Rickmansworth. The apartment was lovely, cozy with lots of light, with brand new spotless equipment. Beds were a good size and comfortable. There was excellent walkable access to Rickmansworth, both to the shops and station, and the aquadrome is only a short drive away, and is probably in walkable distance too if we’d not used the car. Communication with the owner was very prompt and helpful. We would definitely return. Many thanks 😊
Welcome to Rickmansworth – the riverside town that might just be too good to be true! Nestled conveniently on the tube, this family-friendly haven offers a perfect blend of amenities for all. With a bustling high street, excellent pubs, top-notch local schools, and abundant green spaces and waterways, Rickmansworth, affectionately known as 'Ricky,' embodies the ideal commuter town. And did we mention it boasts its own tube station and a mainline into London?
Indulge in crowd-pleasing Italian cuisine at the local Zaza chain or unwind in the modern, friendly gastro style pubs like The Feathers and Artichoke on the Green. The Coach and Horses on the High Street, with its beams and rustic décor, is another excellent choice.
For a vibrant café culture experience, grab a caffeine hit and a Ricky Sticky Bun from the award-winning Cinnamon Square. Alternatively, head to Crazy Goat Co or Perch & Co in Croxley Green for coffee, Persian cuisine, and jazz nights after dark. If you fancy coffee by day and cocktails by night, don't miss Hudson Place on Church Street.
The Rickmansworth Aquadrome takes center stage—a 41-hectare public park and nature reserve where the rivers Chess, Gade, and Colne converge. Explore waterside walking trails, spot wildlife around the lakes and canal paths, or engage in waterskiing and boating for the adventurous.
Experience a cultural feast at Watersmeet, Ricky's entertainment hub, offering theatre, live shows, film, and panto. Dive into the town's history at the Three Rivers Museum and don't miss the annual watery connections festival in May.
Discover the best-kept secret: William Penn, the explorer of Pennsylvania, once called Ricky home, and his former residence, Basing House on the High Street, now houses the Three Rivers Museum.
Conveniently located just 28 minutes from Marylebone on the fast train with Chiltern Railways, Ricky is also on the Metropolitan Line, whisking you directly into the city without changing trains. Now, that's what we call convenience!
