I have stayed at Hugh's place before with my husband, kids and parents and this time was just as lovely (myself youngest and family friend plus kids this time). such a lovely location and the beach 2mins awayis just as fab as I remembered it.

A perfect house as a base for seeing beautiful parts of the Lake District. Hugh was very helpful with all communication and recommendations. We felt right at home and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was as mentioned in the description. Easy parking, lovely house, good internet. I was a little concerned about all of us (parents, young adults/teens and a young child) sharing 1 bathroom but everyone was considerate and it wasn't a problem at all. The recycling and bins were collected weekly which is a rare occurrence nowadays :). That's it I think. I highly recommend this house in Bootle as an excellent base for some incredible destinations. (I recommend the app alltrails for stunning walks and the best beach (we found) was St Bees).

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the old house. Plenty of space and Hugh was a responsive host! We found a nearby waterfall which made our stay magical.

What a great place. A beautiful big old house. The Heating was much needed and worked easily, WiFi was good, nice clean beds and towels too. As a group of 6 swimmers, we also loved the location. Fantastic value. 😊
