It's hard to find the words to describe La Mortilla. La Mortilla is special, it's a home away from home, and it offers the beauty that is human connection. I cannot thank Lorenzo and Francesca enough for sharing their home with us and giving us the opportunity to make friendships and memories that Megan and I will long cherish forever. I can’t even put into words how special this place is. The selfish part of me didn’t want to write this review, in fear it would mean I wouldn’t be able to come back because of how popular La Mortilla might become. But Francesca and Lorenzo deserve all of the success and good things to come to them. This felt like I was visiting my family in Sicily, and not at all like an anonymous stay at an Airbnb. Lorenzo’s cooking, storytelling, attentiveness and humor make this place something so unique and beautiful. Francesca’s oversight in design and her tiramisu deserve a review all on their own. If you are looking to experience life as it should be lived, stay here. The connections and memories we made here are priceless, and will last us our lifetime.

One of the best places we’ve been to ever. La Mortilla is situated on a hill which provides stunning views and quiet days & evenings. The house is beautifully renovated and decorated tastefully with modern furniture - mixing “the old” with “the new”. Lorenzo and Francesca are amazing hosts. They make you feel very welcome, are easy to communicate with, helpful and are nice conversation partners during the lovely lunches/dinners you can join. No doubt we will go back when visiting Sicily :)

Truly unique place. Super calm and cozy. Beautiful views of the valley and the sea. Ideal for relaxation, work or creative time. Francesca and Lorenzo are very kind, thoughtful and accomodating. Definitely recommend!

We had the most amazing stay. A piece of paradise! The hosts are amazing people, we will miss them so much. The house is breathtaking but meeting Francesca and Lorenzo was definitely the highlight of our stay! We would come back anytime!
