New Orleans, aka Nawlins, aka The Big Easy, is an energetic, eclectic city, full of vigor, brimming with resiliency and yet calm in demeanor. The same can be said for both our hosts, Susan & Edward, and the sprawling, urban oasis they’ve painstakingly created over the last decade and a half. A scant 3 miles from the heart of this vibrant city, the French Quarter, and richly appointed with creature comforts both inside and out, Sugar Hill beckons the visitor to enjoy the entirety of the space. The hosts, like the city herself, are welcoming and provide you with all you’ll need to enjoy your time here. We were even greeted with a bouquet of beautiful red roses, complimentary cinnamon muffins, sparkling juices and gifted a dozen fresh eggs from their free range chickens on the property. It was a great experience and a future excursion to the area will see us return to Sugar Hill.

It was exactly what the pictures showed, beautiful place. Absolutely loved the decor and interior design. Outdoor pool and hot tub were amazing, it was chilly and the pool was heated so we could still enjoy it. There were chickens on the property, and they offered us fresh eggs which were delicious. They also allowed us to check in 2 hours early and were very flexible - which we really appreciated! Would stay here again.

Ed & Susan have a beautiful home. We called it our vacation from our vacation. After a long day in the French Quarter it was so nice to come back to the pool & hot tub to relax. The projector screen was such a huge plus, we watched movies on it almost every night. My Husband and I spent a week here for our Honeymoon and when we arrived Ed & Susan had a bouquet of red roses on the counter along with some danishes. The house of very clean and the bed was very comfortable! Anything we needed Ed saw to it himself and was very kind about it. They have chickens & ducks on the property which we enjoyed especially when Ed gave us a dozen of fresh eggs. Susan and Ed’s dogs were also very sweet as well. This place is the perfect stay, close enough to the city (only a 8 min Uber ride) and far out enough to have quiet and privacy at night. I cannot recommend this place enough!

This place is a real gem in New Orleans! Absolutely beautiful decor, stunning amenities, incredible backyard oasis, and amazing hosts! This was our best experience using Airbnb to date. The property is so quirky and immaculate you won’t want to leave. The pool and hot tub area is so beautifully maintained and fun! It’s in a fantastic location with easy access to everything in the city. The host are so kind and caring also! They really go above and beyond with this place! I would definitely stay here again and I cannot recommend this location or this host enough! 100/10 !
