The cottage was very clean and everything seems quite new. The interior is little smaller than we thought it would be based on photos, but it was never an issue. Victor is extremely organized and knowledgeable about the area. He even put together a binder with a bunch of info and local menus. We recommend bringing an inflatable mattress, as the futon mattress left us sore. The cottage has well water. This was expected. Our 'Clearly Filtered' brand pitcher made it drinkable, but it would not be otherwise. There is a ton of nature to explore within a 30 minute drive. Unfortunately mother Nature had other plans for us that week (first thunderstorms, then thick smoke from Canadian wildfires), so we didn't get to do much exploring. :'( The lake on the property is nice and clean enough to swim in. We had fun kayaking and also took the paddle boat out a couple times. A lot of people live nearby, but evenings were very quiet aside from intermittent road noise from the highway.
Comfortable and relaxing. Quiet neighborhood in a quiet no-wake bay . We enjoyed both the deck overlooking the woods and the deck by the lake. Many, many walking and biking trails within 15 minutes of the cottage. Fishing was great for bass right off the dock. We enjoyed our stay very much. Victor was a great host and knows all the trails.
A little slice of Heaven in Hell! Victor’s cottage is a beautiful and comfortable location for anyone that enjoys nature and the outdoors. So many activities available and access to all. Not too far away from a city but I would say perfectly rural. I had a great time while there and intend to return for future vacations!
Great place to get away and relax! It's in a great location to enjoy some peace and quiet, and very close to the best bike trails in the Ann Arbor area. The cabin had everything I needed to work from home and interview for new positions, the wifi was great and I had no issues having Zoom meetings. Victor was a great communicator, and really helped me feel welcome as I was in the process of moving to Michigan. He was super helpful and I'd definitely stay at one of his properties again!
Terrific getaway cabin/cottage/studio complete with some of the best kayaking. Nice host!

When traveling, I enjoy meeting locals and travelers for sharing nice conversation and stories. My travel itinerary includes recommendations from locals including their favorite things to see and places to visit. So far I have visited 40+ countries and all 50 states in the USA. Some of my favorite places are The Netherlands, Brazil, Peru and Machu Picchu, Guatamala includingTikal ruins and Livingston, and Mexico including Palanque ruins. I enjoy photographing the beauty that surrounds us, including people, nature, landscapes, flowers, architecture, and historical sites. I like to water ski, kayak, stand-up paddle board, hike, snorkel, explore. I enjoy live music including classic acoustic rock, folk, and a lot of the newer pop music.
