We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back someday! We’ve stayed in many air bnb’s and this is one of the best! There were many extra special touches in the cottage that we appreciated! The lake view was amazing and we enjoyed cooking, grilling and relaxing by the fire pit. The decor and cleanliness was top notch. We also appreciated access to kayaks and paddle board. Just down the road is delicious pizza, cider, and a trading post for some necessities. Grocery store and great hiking nearby.
What an amazing place. Jason and Talia's little lovely little cottage in Pickney far exceeded our expectations. It was so clean, and so cute, with such a lovely little lake, and so many little nice touches (thanks for the maize and blue donuts!!). It was a great place to stay for both my kids and my parents. And, man, the parking in Ann Arbor for game day was an incredible perk! Amazing!! We look forward to making this cottage a yearly tradition. Thank you, Jason and Talia, for helping us have a wonderful weekend get away :)
The home is located on a small dirt road among many lake front cottages. Neighbors are friendly and the neighborhood is quiet.
A 3 minute drive, 10 minute boat ride or 15 minute walk takes you to local restaurants and shops like Ore Creek Cider (voted best cider in Michigan), Trading post, NauitMi (Ice cream and local Michigan goods) and Riverside Pizza. If you need a full grocery store, there are two located within 10-15 minutes via car (Busch's 10 minutes, Kroger 15 minutes).
Within walking distance is the Portage Lake Yacht Club which offers dining to the public with fabulous lake front views.
While the lakefront home provides peace and quiet, it's also a short drive to many local towns (big and small) with tons of amenities:
- 10 minutes to downtown Dexter (quaint shops, restaurants and a small town downtown feel).
- 25 minutes to Downtown Ann Arbor and the Big House (many fine dining options, restaurants, night life and shops - Go Blue!).
- 20 minutes to downtown Brighton (lots of great shops, restaurants and a riverfront park with walking trails)
- 25 minutes to downtown Howell (more great restaurants and shops).
There are also a multitude of trails nearby that are great for hiking and biking (Border2Border trail, Potawatami trail, Brighton State Recreation Area, Pinckney Recreation Area and more).
Nearby parks include Hudson Mills, Dexter Huron Metropark and Mill Creek Park in Dexter.
There is parking for 3 cars on site, two in the driveway and one next to the garage on the grass.
