This sweet home, centrally located in the quiet West Blvd Historic District, was built and furnished with attention to quality, detail, and comfort. With everything you need to prepare meals, cedar sauna, and large open deck, you'll find plenty of spaces to love. You'll have 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, family room, modern kitchen, laundry, and dining room. It's a short walk to Starbucks, groceries, chocolatier, restaurants, and hiking trails. Close to Mt Rushmore! Also close to hospital. The master bedroom suite has hardwood floors and is furnished with a king bed, a writing desk, a dresser, plenty of closet space to hang your clothes, a quiet overhead fan, and still has plenty of space for a couple yoga mats. There is direct access to the large deck through the double glass door. The bedroom has a private bath featuring a custom stand-up large shower stall and his-and-her sinks. There are two additional bedrooms. They have queen beds, plenty of closet space, and extra seating. There is a work space in each room for a computer. They share a bathroom with a shower and large, deep tub. The kitchen has been updated with modern cabinetry and lighting. It features a work space for a laptop or writing. You'll find all the tools you'll need to cook most meals including an Instapot, a griddle, lots of quality pots and pans, cast iron, utensils, cake and pie pans, flat cooking sheets, crock pot, toaster and microwave, Vitamix blender, and a dishwasher to clean up the mess! We've stocked it with spices, quality oils, condiments, tea, coffee, flour, sugar, honey, beans, butter, the list goes on. Because we live here in the winter we know that it will have everything you need to cook just about anything. The dining room features a custom cherry table and chairs handmade by a local craftsman, and a hutch where you'll find games, puzzles, a cribbage board, cards, and reading material. The dining room opens onto the deck through a sliding glass door. On the large deck you'll find comfortable seating around a table. The deck faces east so you can enjoy the morning sun with a cup of coffee or tea and your favorite person, or relax with a book in the evening shade. There is a grill on the deck - turn on the gas to use it and turn off the gas when done so it doesn't all leak out! There is ample space in the living room to spread out, as well as a piano and stand-up desk with computer monitors you can plug in to. There is a flat-screen TV, and plenty of windows to bring in fresh sunshine. Laundry is in the basement sauna room. The basement living room is stocked with books but is used mostly for storage right now. Please do not use the basement mini-kitchen or the freezer. The home features a custom cedar sauna in the basement. Instructions are posted near the sauna. Note that the sauna is complete, functional, and awesome. Otherwise the room is bare with only a washer and dryer. In the future I will be adding a shower in the room that the sauna is in, a new floor and wall coverings, etc... The entire house has craftsman-quality wood-frame windows. All the windows open, if you like the breeze, and many have double blinds for privacy. There are two thermostats - one for the bedrooms, and one for the common spaces - that control heat and AC separately in these spaces. Except for the Sol and Luna bedrooms, which have carpet, all rooms have either hardwood floors (including master bedroom) or stone tile. There are several options for mood lighting throughout the house. We have decorated with a minimalist approach to avoid a crowded feel, and hence the space remains open and inviting. The home is scent-free. There will likely be several musical instruments laying around (including a piano) so feel free to pick one up (except the piano - it's quite heavy) and rock out. Within close walking distance you will find a grocery store, a Walgreens, various restaurants, a Starbucks, a convenience store, hiking trails, and a local chocolatier! Monument Hospital is close by (1 mile).
