Orchard View Cottage, is one of two cottages that make up Coastal Farm Holiday Cottages on our Dorset coastal wild meadow Farm. Overlooking two Apple Orchards. Minutes from the beach. A quiet spot for nature lovers. Orchard View Cottage is a comfortable 2 bed, 1 double and 1 bunkbed rooms, with a spacious open plan living/dining area. Both Orchard View and Hazel Copse cottages are open beamed barn conversions in a rural location on our organic wild meadow farm on the Dorset coast. Given this environment, the cottages do have spiders and woodlice. We clean the cottages prior to guests arriving, without chemical sprays and remove all visible spiders and woodlice. However, we cannot guarantee our guests wont find them in the cottage during their stay. We ask our guests to be aware of this before booking, be tolerant of the little creatures when at the cottage and understanding when reviewing their stay. About 15 years ago we re-introduced many of the indigenous wild flowers and grasses back into this part of the Dorset coast line. Re-seeding our entire farm (70 acres). At that time it was one of the largest land-reversion projects of its type on this coast. Sitting on the edge of this, are our two holiday let cottages. Orchard View overlooks two of our apple orchards. Hazel Copse Cottage looks over the Hazel Wood and one of the Apple Orchards Both are barn conversions tucked away at the end of a leafy 'no through' lane, at the entrance to Ivy Farm. The cottages are well equipped and comfortable. As well as the long lazy walks over the farm there is plenty of space just outside the cottage for the children to play and kick a ball around. You can sit under the apple trees, sipping a cool drink on a hot day or take a stroll through the meadows on the farm to the Fleet Lagoon, which is one of the few natural Lagoons left in the world. Orchard View has been an incredible base for a week, discovering Dorset with our 2 young children. Jacqueline welcomed us to Ivy Farm with such kindness and warmth. Orchard view has everything you could need and is so private and safe for the children to play. The area is stunning with beautiful walks, amazing scenery, and epic fossil hunting nearby! We have had the best holiday here and will treasure the memories made. We hope to return to explore the area more and to cosy up for a peaceful stay in the near future. Thank you, Jaquie and Frank, its been wonderful x
We had a lovely stay at Orchard view cottage and would highly recommend it! We have two children aged 4 and 7, they loved playing in the fields and Frank gave them some apples to feed the sheep. Frank and Jaqueline are wonderful hosts, very kid friendly and welcoming and made the cottage so homely. The views from the cottage are stunning and we enjoyed local walks and day trips out.
Jacqueline and Frank were wonderful hosts, super friendly and helpful. The place is amazing, very beautiful and very kid friendly with a lovely grassy orchard right outside the cottage and sheep to visit nearby. The property overall is very large with beautiful hill walks and access to a stunning lagoon in the distance. The cottage was very comfortable and cozy, with all amenities, and a nice skylight to bring in plenty of natural light, West facing for the afternoon sun. Definitely recommended for a beautiful and peaceful stay!!
Idyllic cottage with good amenities, exactly as described. Host very friendly and keen to impart local knowledge about the area. We used it as a base to see all the sights of Dorset and it suited well. Also worth noting that we had an electric car and there were a great many charging points in the surrounding area.
