The neighbourhood is fairly quaint and and quiet for being located downtown. Even though it's a short walk away from the most bustling areas of the city, it is in a pocket that doesn't receive much traffic. It's actually one of the nicer parts of town, with a park within a 2 minute walk away.
Centrally located in Toronto's best neighbourhood. Cutest park right beside the building for enjoying a nature retreat in the middle of the city. Short walk to Harbourfront to sit by the lake and enjoy the water. Loblaws grocery store and coffee shops just down the street.
Some local restaurants to check out include Hunters Landing on Fort York Boulevard and for coffee-lovers check out Thor Espresso Bar on Bathurst.
For local grocery stores you can find Fresh & Wild Food Market at the corner of Spadina and King, The Kitchen Table on King and Bathurst, and Sobeys can be found on Fort York Boulevard near Spadina Avenue.
Also, you'll find new great restaurants at Well especially Aera which is a luxuriously appointed steakhouse, sushi counter, cocktail bar, and rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of downtown Toronto. Parking in the secure, large 24/7 garage at 10 Portland Street (beside my place) is 20 cad a day.
The Spadina streetcar is also a 2 minute walk away which literally connects you to the entire city. You won't have an issue getting anywhere from my place!
The Spadina Streetcar is a 2 minute walk from my doorstep which runs North / South through the city. Take it South and you'll ride along Lakeshore and arrive at Union Station which is the main transportation hub of the city. You can go anywhere in the city from Union Station and it's only 5 minutes away. Take the Streetcar North and it will bring you to the Bloor Line which runs East / West through the city. Take it West to head to Etobicoke or East to The Danforth which is Greektown.
