Please note that this is a pet friendly home, complete with cat ambassador who lives in the basement suite. She may greet you as you arrive or try to join you on the front porch. If you have a severe cat allergy or aversion, this stay is not for you. This 1725 square foot heritage home was built in 1923 and it is boasting with vintage charm. On the ground floor, you are welcome with a large covered porch with dining seating for six and an additional 3 places with coffee table. The main floor is where you'll find the large living room and formal dining room with 8-seat table, fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom including a bidet (!) and shower. There is also a laundry nook with a full size laundry sink and stacked washer and dryer. There is a full-size wardrobe in near the front entrance for storing coats. The front door is a digital lock. On the second floor are located 3 bedrooms and an additional flex room, which is configured as an office with the option of a queen sofa bed. Because of the age and style of the home, keep in mind that the rooms are small and that sound does travel. Bedroom 1 - The Lake Room: This petite room has a custom built bunk bed with two Twin XL mattresses. They are designed to support adults up to 250 lbs but are more suitable for younger kids and pre-teens based on clearance. The lake view and new motorized standup desk make this room a prized daytime hangout. Bedroom 2 - The Moon Room: This master bedroom has a King bed and large a dresser, as well as an enormous window with a mountain view overlooking the property's large garden. The afternoon sunlight filters through the large cedars that keep you company outside the window. Bedroom 3 - The Cat Room: This bedroom contains a double bed, Monstessori-style. Is that a fancy term for a bed on the floor? Yes, yes it is. But we find it to be very convenient for toddlers and it is a high quality mattress that adults will enjoy as well. This room also contains a rocking chair, dresser and selection of children's bedtime story books. And of course, cat art! The closet in this bedroom is unlocked and available for use. It contains the portable air conditioner that we supply for use in any room, as preferred. Flex Room 4 - The Office: Containing arguably the best window in the house, this office plays double duty as a remote work oasis and 4th bedroom. The high quality sofa bed is made in Canada and recently purchased. It has an easy to use mechanism and high quality mattress. Note that this room doesn't contain a dresser or have an available closet. The upstairs bathroom contains a tub and generous vanity, along with a skylight and swing open window for letting in the breeze. Note that the tub has a hand wand but there is no standup shower.
