What a fantastic place. We were there in the third week of January, and lucky for us, they got snow the night before we got there. It’s a true winter wonderland on the side of the mountain after it snows. Even though we only reserved the apartment we had access to the whole house, which allowed us to cook our meals and control the furnace. We hiked some of the Bartlett trail but there was significant snow so we walked in the rye city mountain park instead, which was beautiful along the river. We also hiked at the Pueblo mountain park in Buelah, which is an outstanding park and absolutely worth the drive. You’ll definitely want to do your groceries in Pueblo, but there are a couple places to eat in rye and Colorado city, although we didn’t try them. The host allowed us to bring our four dogs which we really appreciated, since hiking and vacationing just isn’t the same without them. We would definitely stay here again if visiting the Pueblo area!
