The bottom becomes muddy farther out, and it’s about 5 feet deep off the end of the dock. There are few to no weeds. Close-By Attractions Algonquin Highlands Trails. Algonquin Highlands has some of the nicest trails in Haliburton County, with over 38 km of hiking trails and canoe routes. Nearby trails include the Alven Ferguson Hiking Trail, Coopers Lookout, Circle of 5 Viewpoints and more, all within 25 minutes of the cottage Highland Cinemas - Kinmount. Not just a unique multi-plex theatre featuring currently available movies, it's also a museum showcasing the history of film and kitschy items from each decade, and a cat sanctuary outside! Lakeside Golf Club is only 5 minutes away, and within half an hour you’ll find a number of courses including Blairhampton Golf Course, Pinestone Resort Golf Course, Haliburton Highlands Golf Cub, and, fun for the whole family, Disc Golf at Abbey Gardens (5 minutes).
