Longlands Farm is nestled in a 17 acre secret valley on the Border of Exmoor National Park and situated within the North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and located only 10 minutes from the nearest beach. Longlands Farm consists of 5 Award Winning Safari Lodges, each sleeping 6 guests (sleeping 30 guests in total). THE GROUNDS Longlands Farm is located just 20 minutes from Woolacombe Beach, voted the Best Beach in Britain, and 10 minutes from Combe Martin Beach. Longlands Farm consists of 17 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, including a private lake for wild swimming and rowing, a private woodland with streamside walks, a cedar wood hot tub positioned on its own private deck overlooking the lake, an amenity field for lawn games and a yoga circle. CEDAR WOOD HOT TUB Positioned on its very own deck above the lake, immerse yourself in the warm waters of our 6 persons hot tub and enjoy the spectacular views over the lake, through the valley and down to the sea and the setting sun. The hot tub is situated on its own terrace, in the bank above the lake. It also has its very own changing room and outdoor shower. Our hot tub can fit up to 6 people and costs £60 for an hour (£40 for couples). As our hot tub is not a jacuzzi, the bubbles to enjoy are those in your prosecco. The warm water of our hot tub is calm, clear and quiet. Just perfect for relaxing and unwinding. SAFARI LODGES (SLEEPS 6) The large deck area at the front of the lodge has comfortable furniture (seating 6) so you can sit back and enjoy the amazing views down the valley towards the sea and watch the sun set during the day, or gaze at the star filled sky at night. The lodges look out onto one of the few Dark Sky Reserves in the world! There is an even better view from the fire pit / BBQ platform. Each lodge has its own private BBQ area above the lodge. There you will find a Kadai fire bowl for use as a fire pit or for BBQing and a bench from which to enjoy the view. Inside the lodge and at its heart is the wood burning stove. This will keep the lodge warm in colder weather, as well as provide a means of cooking, either on top as a hob or in its spacious oven compartment (there's even a slot for warming your plates). The kitchen is fully equipped with a 6 seater dining table, cooking utensils, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware. There is also a sink and small cool box with ice bricks. Snuggle into a warm bed and under a thick duvet as this is glamorous camping after all. Be lulled to sleep by the babble of the stream, the wind in the trees, or the patter of rain on the canvas roof. Hear the owls calling to each other. Breathe in that fresh air and sleep soundly. Sweet dreams. Each lodge has a King Bedroom, a Twin Bedroom and a Double Cabin Bed, sleeping up to six people. Also provided are hot water bottles and extra blankets to ensure you are warm whatever the weather. Each lodge has its own en-suite shower room and separate en-suite wash room with flushing loo and basin. Hot water for the shower, sink and basin is provided by a wood burning boiler, that also ensures the shower room is warm and cosy. We provide all the bath linen you should need, plus a gorgeous range of natural aromatherapy bathroom products, including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. Also provided are basic essentials such as loo paper and hand towels. In the lodge lounge you will find a three seater leather vintage chesterfield sofa where you can enjoy a game of Monopoly, Scrabble or Uno. The blanket box is filled with our favourite board games which you can enjoy whilst you bask in the warmth of the wood burner. WILD SWIMMING IN THE LAKE Be sure to bring your swimming costume or wetsuit and hop in our lake for a wild swim. Float along on your back and gaze up at the sky, or strike out across the lake for an invigorating work out. Good for mind, body and soul. Our lake can also be used for boating and we have a skiff named ‘Little Bird’. She can hold one adult and one child. Brush up on your rowing skills or just bob about looking at the wildlife that hugs the shoreline. Life jackets of varying sizes are provided. Whilst Airbnb reference the Wild Swimming Lake as a "pool" in amenities, please note swimming facilities at Longlands Farm are a Natural, Wild Swimming Lake, not a man made swimming pool. WANDER THROUGH THE WOODS There are stream walks and nature trails in the woods, and lots of sticks with which to practice den building. Our streamside and woodland walks are very sheltered, so are excellent even on both sunny and rainy days. Bug hunt along the stream, discover animal tracks and perhaps even spot deer in the woods. LAWN GAMES We have a number of outdoor lawn games, all of which can be played on our special games terrace. There is a football goal on the football field and a basketball and netball hoop, plus giant chess and table tennis. So score a goal, hit a pin, shoot a hoop or check mate.
