No ghoulies or ghosties here--just a unique and magical escape inspired by everyone's favorite school of magic--located upstairs at The Creaky Cauldron B&B in the heart of Salem! We have put a lot of love and time into creating a truly special and enchanting experience for visitors to Salem who love magic and fantasy as much as we do. Each room has been carefully themed after a magical house and/or subject to give our guests an immersive experience in the world of witchcraft and wizardry. The private apartment is a brand new renovation located on the third floor of a two-family home in a quiet neighborhood only a 5-minute walk from downtown Salem and all the attractions. The apartment features two bedrooms: The Eagle's Nest: Seeing the Stars & Future (theme: astronomy/divination, vibe: whimsigothic, featuring a queen-sized bed) and The Badger's Burrow: Magical Herbs & Potions (theme: herbology/potions, vibe: cottagecore, featuring a queen-sized bed). There is a dining area and kitchenette (The Owlery) and a open living area (The Lion's Den Common Room) with additional sleeping space on a fold-down futon and a twin-sized mattress for floor-sleeping in the Cupboard Above the Stairs. Our kitchenette includes a mini-fridge, microwave, blender, tiny toaster oven and toaster, coffee maker and tea kettle. We provide breakfast (cereals and oatmeal), coffee, tea and milk. Our brand new Serpent's Chamber bathroom is sunny and spacious and has a luxurious stand-up shower. We have themed games, books and activities to please fans of all ages. Our beds feature comfy pillow-top or foam mattresses as well as luxury memory foam pillows (along with more traditional options for guests who prefer those). Our historic home was build in 1915 but this space is a brand new renovation! We have sourced unique vintage pieces to furnish and decorate the home (better quality than mass-produced new stuff and better for the environment!) We strive to lead a zero-waste lifestyle and offer our guests zero-waste options for toiletries as well as recycling and composting. The apartment is located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood adjacent to the gorgeous McIntire Historic District, a must-see in Salem. One really awesome neighborhood feature is that the houses directly behind ours (visible from the bathroom and kitchen windows) are a special development of authentic English-style cottages built after the great Salem fire of 1914 (as was our house). They help create even more of an immersive experience . Located on our block is the historic Broad St cemetery, and we are only a 5-min walk from downtown Salem (including some of the cutest shops in Salem) as well as a short walk from all the museums and attractions. We have plentiful and free parking on our street, and our guests can walk to downtown easily to enjoy all of what Salem has to offer without dealing with the traffic and crowds (and very challenging parking). Anything else we can do to make your stay magical, please ask! PLEASE NOTE: Only in October, street parking on our street is only for Salem residents. Therefore, we can only provide parking for ONE car in October (guest parking pass to allow for street parking). At other times, street parking is free and plentiful for additional cars. Please plan accordingly if you are booking for October (bring only one car or make alternate arrangements for additional cars).
Me and my girlfriend stayed for her birthday and the place was absolutely wonderful. everything was perfect, finding the place, getting in, and it was so cozy and amazing. Thank you for being an amazing host and giving us the best trip.
We absolutely loved our time at the Creaky Cauldron! Not on out was the space decorated on theme (every detail was amazing and the bathroom was iconic), but the neighborhood and accessibility to downtown Salem could not be beat. We will most definitely be back to visit again 😁
Our stay at Hannah's place was excellent. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Salem. It was a few minute walk to the main strip on Essex and across the street from a cool old Cemetary. The bnb itself was excellent, super quiet, clean, and extremely comfy beds.

This development and our house were built after the great Salem fire of 1914, and our house has really beautiful historical details as well.

We also recommend the Salem Skipper, which is a inexpensive and covenient option to get around the city without having to deal with parking. Salem also has a bike sharing system (Blue Bikes), with the closest station a 5-min walk away.
