Spacious ensuite room with far-reaching views, in secluded location on a working smallholding, at the foot of the Cambrian Mountains. 12 mins to Builth Wells showground, 20 mins to the spectacular Elan Valley, 30 mins to Man V Horse & 40 mins to Hay-on-Wye's world-famous festival. Walkers, cyclists, wildlife enthusiasts and riders all welcome; 1/2 a mile off the Lon Las Cymru National Cycle Route no8 & Wye Valley Walk. Guided walks, massages and home-produced food. Some dogs by arrangement. The B&B accommodation is in the main farmhouse, surrounded by old farm buildings, species-rich grasslands, pasture & woodland. Please note that the track to the farm is unmade and can be uneven. Most cars will be able to drive easily to the farmhouse, however if your vehicle is particularly low or you have any concerns please speak to your host before booking. Also, the car parking area is a hardstanding (rather than concrete) and the path to the house is also a mix of hardstanding with some grass areas which can be wet / uneven. It is suggested that you wear appropriate outdoor footwear when you arrive and around the B&B. We are virtually self-sufficient in organically grown vegetables, eggs and pasture-fed, free range meat and include home-produced food in our cooked breakfasts and meals wherever possible. Vegetarian, vegan and special diets are also mindfully catered for when requested. The holding is productive but is also a carefully managed haven for birds and wildlife. The area is characterised by old hill farms backed by extensive upland moor which stretches for hundreds of miles, offering exceptional opportunities for walking, cycling and riding. The room is spacious and quiet, with expansive views to the south. It has its own WC and basin in a washroom linked to the bedroom and use of the shower and bath in the main bathroom adjacent just down the hallway. Bedding is sumptuous and high-quality with a comfortable mattress on a five-foot (Queen-size) bed, a chest of draws, a table desk with chair, bedside tables and reading lamps. All linen and towels are provided. There are tea making facilities in the room with home baked biscuits and please note there is a radio but no TV.
