Evergreen Nook sits on 325 acres, 3 minutes walk from water, and your own boat slip, (During season, April-July). The lake brings you amenities such as boating, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, in a quiet cove with over 3,000 ft of shoreline. A fire pit, hiking trails, bluffs, trees of all types, cattle grazing and a US Wetland give you plenty to explore year-round during your stay. Welcome to Evergreen Nook! Nestled amidst the serene woods and sprawling fields along the picturesque shores of Smith Lake, our 1-bedroom tiny home is your perfect escape into nature's embrace. Step inside to discover a cozy haven where modern comfort meets rustic charm. As you enter, you'll be greeted by the ingenious design of a Murphy bed that effortlessly transforms your living space into a peaceful bedroom at night, offering uninterrupted views of the starlit sky through the windows, or from outside by the fire pit under the sky. During the day, fold it away to open up the living area, creating a versatile and inviting atmosphere. Start and end your day on the attached screened-in porch. Here, you can savor your morning coffee while listening to the soothing sounds of the forest, or enjoy a romantic dinner under the stars without worrying about pesky insects. Fire Tower Camp was a nice get away for my husband and I. William was very responsive and we appreciated how quickly he got back to us with some questions we had. The cabin felt very homey and the outside sitting space was wonderful. everything needed to make a fire was provided. Can’t wait to come back!
Staying at William's lake house at Fire Tower Camp was an absolutely delightful experience. The lake itself is serene, beautifully tranquil, and provides a sense of peaceful seclusion with ample privacy. William was an exceptional host, super attentive, and always ensuring everything was perfect. He also provided fantastic recommendations for local eateries and activities, which greatly enhanced our visit. It was a truly positive experience and I had a great time. By far the best anniversary trip that me and my husband have had. The place was beautiful. Billy gave us so many different places to explore. I couldn’t have asked for a better host, we will be coming back to stay in the treehouse next.
Ever since we booked, William was easily the most proactive, kind, courteous, detailed, and responsive host I’ve ever had; this comes after several years and many AirBnB bookings/hosts/stays. In so many words, he was easily the best! He reminded us of the free breakfast made available to my wife and me during our stay, as well as a spot to check out while we were there! The place was the nicest little cabin you could look to stay in. The amenities worked without fail, it was stocked with plenty of fire-starting materials, and the surrounding area was calm, private, and chock full of nice Appalachian sights and sounds. While Fire Tower Camp seems to be newer and still developing and expanding, I can’t wait to see what it will become. I look forward to booking here in the future!
I absolutely loved it here! So peaceful and just a beautiful place to stay! If we are ever back in the area I really look forward to possibly stay again! William was also extremely helpful and so, so kind! Such a kind soul to talk with! I really recommend this place and I hope anyone who stays here has the same experience as I did!

Evergreen Nook is the initial property available to visit at FireTower Camp, located off Pea Ridge Road, (County Road 351), in Crane Hill, Alabama. The area traditionally contained farms and logging land, and is a mainstay along Smith Lake as you travel from Smith Lake dam to Smith Lake Park along Ryan Creek.
Evergreen Nook is located on FireTower Camp Road, (County Road 353), just off Pea Ridge Road, (County Road 351). There is ample parking for cars, trucks, trailers, etc. on site.

Hey everyone! My name is Billy, and welcome to FireTower Camp! My wife’s Grandmother was born and raised next door before Smith Lake was here, and it remains her family’s gathering place 4 generations later. Your family can enjoy the same traditions at FireTower Camp. I have been in the fire truck business over 20 years, and the 109’ Fire Tower will serve as the camp beacon (coming in 2025) as we work hard to give you a relaxing vacation spot!
