Situated within the Timberline Lodges complex at Fernie Alpine Resort, this suite is more than just a place to stay; it's your home away from home. The suite is equipped with all the comforts of home including a fully stocked kitchen, a spacious living/dining area, sleek flat screen TVs, a cozy gas fireplace, and complimentary Wi-Fi. For your viewing pleasure, a DVD player is also provided along with modern furnishings to ensure a stylish, comfortable stay. The master bedroom boasts a luxurious King bed, while the second bedroom offers 2 comfy Queen beds. Additional sleeping arrangements are provided in the form of a pull-out sofa in the living room, accommodating up to 7 guests. Positioned within walking distance of the chairlifts and an array of delectable restaurants at the resort village, our condo offers utmost convenience. As our guest, you'll have full access to all the amenities at Timberline Lodges including invigorating hot tubs and a heated outdoor pool. Unique to this unit is its partial below-ground setting, providing a naturally cooler environment during the summer months. Fernie, British Columbia offers four seasons of recreational activities that includes spring, summer and fall golfing, fly-fishing, hiking, biking, boating, water-skiing, river-rafting, kayaking, wild-life viewing and so much more. For winter enthusiasts, snow-shoeing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, skating and of course, the best powder skiing and snow boarding conditions in the world!
Biking and Hiking in Fernie
The Fernie Alpine Ski Resort is converted every summer allowing for full terrain mountain biking and hiking. Bikes are hooked onto the chairlifts and all runs are groomed and trailed for all levels of bikers to enjoy a safe experience. Bike rentals are available at the base and in retail outlets in town. Lifts are also open into the high alpine to allow visitors to explore spectacular terrain and wildlife on foot. Guided tours are also available.
Championship Golf Course
Fernie is the home to an exceptional 18-hole golf and the new Coal Creek golf course, designed by Davis Mclay Kidd is under way. Within a 45 min. drive you will find a Fred Couples and a two Gary Player golf course under construction and scheduled for completion in 2010.
Lakes, lakes and more lakes!
In under an hours drive, you can be resting on the sandy shores of a number of lakes south of Fernie. Lake Kookanusa is an 80 mile long water reserve with sandy shores, deep fresh aqua coloured water and water temperatures of 80 degrees. This lake is only a 25 minute drive from Fernie, situated in the arid “banana belt” of the Kootenays. Other lakes to explore include Tie Lake and Wasa Lake for swimming, water-skiing, fishing and boating.
Fishing – the Best Places
Just 300 meters from your door is the world-renowned Elk River. Known throughout the world for it’s fly -fishing, it is right at your doorstep. Fly-fishing is experienced by many by walking the sides of the river or through guided boats along the river. The town of Fernie offers many experts and amenities to make sure your experience is exceptional. Other “town secret spots” include Lizard Creek, Wigwam, Michele and the Bull River. Come and check it out – the fish are biting!
