Lovely rural old stone house with great big comfy sofas, woodburning stove and also very warm and cozy. Super comfy beds and gorgeous furniture. There are a few houses near by but it's all very quiet. Good views and walks from the house although our old dog couldn't manage the stone styles. High Cup Nick is worth a visit, also Ashgill Force waterfall. Very comfortable and enjoyable holiday... would definitely recommend.

Great stay at Rob & Chris's place. A warm and comfortable stay in a beautiful location with excellent, helpful hosts. Only gripe was that the local pub was closed!!

We spent New Years at Overdale after a very busy Christmas, it was peaceful and perfect. The 300 year old cottage is very cosy, the pics don’t do it justice. This was our first holiday away with two large dogs and Rob was very communicative and answered all my annoying questions . Garden was enclosed but we kept dogs on lead as they reacted a bit to the sheep and probably could have got over the walls but for lab sized and smaller it would be secure. Absolutely stunning areas and amazing walks, breathtaking. The only issue was our dogs cldnt get over the stiles so we had to stick to road walking but that wasn’t too much of an issue considering the beauty around us. Lovely place to stay if you want a remote getaway

We spent a magical 4 days celebrating Christmas at Overdale. A characterful charming property with stunning views in a beautiful setting. (photos of property do not do it justice) The authentic feel of this cottage was perfect and felt like home away from home. Very well equipped kitchen to cook our Christmas lunch, exceptionally comfortable beds and linens. Lovely antique furnishing throughout in keeping with the property, and the toasty log burner ! We couldn't have wished for a better place to spend Christmas. Despite the Gail force winds and heavy rain we managed to go on some great hikes straight from the garden which was ideal with the dog ! Ideally recommended for people looking for a truly relaxing vacation off the beaten track ! (The pub 5 minutes down the track in Garrigill is currently closed under restoration but when that opens it will be a big bonus) A huge thanks to Rob and Chris for sharing their property, we will be back !
