You’ll love our place because La Residencia Natural is a recent wooden three-unit beachfront villa located on the secluded beach of Punta Vieja, a remote safe swimming beach in the island of Bastimentos, across the Zapatillas Cays of the Bastimentos National Marine Park. The loft-like one bedroom apartment is equipped, in the loft space facing the water, with one King size beds, a sitting area and a well equipped kitchen with a full size stove and electrical fridge and, next to the open space, a separate bedroom with two single beds (which can make another matrimonial bed) and a complete bathroom with hot and cold water. The loft space opens to a private terrace overlooking a wide white sand beach and the inviting waters of the lagoon. All with design wooden furniture.The rate includes water, electricity and WIFI (excellent for e-mail, computer based phone communication and web browsing, perfect for Netflix, not recommended for heavy uploads or downloads). Complementary use of sit-on kayaks, pick-up at Bocas airport, the boat transfer, at fixed times, from Bocas town to La Residencia Natural in Bastimentos island and the return to Bocas town at the end of the stay at set time are all included in the rate . At your arrival, we will direct you to the best facilities for the buying of the grocery and all you need to get before your departure to the islands. The boat transfer from the Al Natural Landing in Bocas town to La Residencia is a very scenic 45 minutes boat rides though the waters of the Bastimentos Marine park. Our boat leaves our office in Bocas town between 12:00 and 1:00pm . The departure from the villa for the return transfer is between 8:00 and and 10:00am. Transfer outside those time are $100.00. Sometimes, when we do not need to do our regular morning boat shuttle, we can be flexible with the schedule of our boat without having to charge any additional cost, please check with me. Please note that cleaning of the apartment during the stay is not included. Service of a maid, cook, and/or babysitter are easily available at affordable rate. Massage service is also offered. If you need laundry, we will take them to town to a laundry facility. Please bring your own biodegradable shampoo and conditioner, we provide biodegradable dishwasher soap. We provides drinkable water in 5 gallon jar, easier and cheaper, the cost is $7.00 per jar, to be paid at check-out .

We had a wonderful stay! The place is beautiful with the sea right in front of the balcony. Apart from the wonderful sound of the sea it was very quiet and felt very private. This part of Bastimentos island was really beautiful with different small beaches to explore. And to explore other places Michel can organize tours from his hotel that is close by. Communication with Michel was great. Although our arrival in Bocas was a bit improvised Michel was in touch with us all the time to make sure we arrive at the accommodation well. There are many other positive aspects of our stay that I could mention. But all in all we had a really relaxing stay and we would book at this place again if we go back to Bocas.
Great place to disconnect from it all. We spent 4 nights with our young children and loved it. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed to cook all our meals during our stay. Considering how remote the place was we were very impressed with the electricity, water and internet. All of it worked great. This is an amazing place to stay if you want to be comfortable while being in nature and enjoying the beach life.
Michel’s place is perfect for those looking to relax in relative peace and quiet on a secluded beach away from the regular tourist crowds. We enjoyed sleeping to the sounds of the ocean, seeing stars at night. The villas are very beautiful and their architectural style reflects the local Ngabe culture, the indigenous group whose land the property sits on. The minimalism of the villa is balanced by having internet access and heated water. If you do not want to pay to eat at the restaurant, which looks delicious but is a bit pricy, be sure to bring enough food with you from Bocas town on the water taxi. Also note that drinking water is delivered to the apartment at the price of $10 USD per 5 gallon jug.
The loft is as described but even better in real life, right on the sea with beautiful views and warm welcoming waters. We are a family of four and enjoyed swimming, fishing, snorkeling and excursions into the jungle. The loft is furnished with everything we needed to prepare meals. We did self catering and took two dinners at the Al Natural resort, which I highly recommend!!! If you self cater, you have to bring all food from Bocas as there are no places to shop without a long boat ride. We made lasting memories. The hosts st AlNatural were very helpful and accommodating. The waves were loud at night, but we got used to it and slept very well Definitely recommend it for a secluded getaway
This place was absolutely magical - it is quiet and slow and pure beauty. We had our 4-year daughter and she loved it. The water was safe and the shells and white sand were endless. The place was clean and built with love. The kitchen is well stocked. Dinner at Al Natural was so lovely. The staff is amazing. It's safe and absolutely wonderful here!

Location, location, location! La Residencia Natural is located on a beautiful wide sand beach very private looking towards reefs and the islands of Zapatillas. The surrounding area of the apartments is very beautiful and peaceful. The beach in front of the villa is made of very fine white sand, it is great to stroll, play racket ball, or take the sun. Swimming in the lagoon in front of the villa is always safe. There are other beaches around the point, wilder but smaller and more exposed to the waves of the Caribbean sea, and more dangerous too, that you can walk to. You can walk also to the Indian village of Salt Creek. You can explore the reefs in the lagoon in front of the residence by using the kayaks or with one of the tour offered by the nearby Al Natural Resort. Services of a maid and/or cook are also available.
Please note that due to the rising of the sea , recently we had to add natural large stones to protect the beach, the place is still right in front of the beach, but you need to walk over the bolders to get to the lower part of the sand. Sorry we have not yet been able to update our photos. Very close by, down the beach, on your right when looking at the water, at a couple of minutes, you will found the nicest stretch of beach of the whole area and no stone there, perfect easy access..
o go to Bocas town, the easiest is to go along with one of the daily boat trips that our nearby hotel the Al Natural Resort does everyday. The cost is only $20.00 per person both ways and you can obtain at the hotel the day before the exact schedule of the boat transfer of the following day. Usually there is one boat in the morning, leaving Bastimentos between 8:00 and 10:00 AM and coming back at around noon. If you want to spend the whole day in Bocas town (nor sure why though :-), you can go with one of our transfer and come back with a special boat just for you at the time you decide, the cost of such private transfer is $100.00 when it is possible for Al Natural to provide such service or with a private captain from Bocas. We can arrange the trip for you. We can also go shopping for you in Bocas town, there is 15% shopping fee for the services.
