A beautiful cottage with lots of character and a huge space for the whole family to enjoy. Located in the village of Croscombe, this is a beautiful spot surrounded by countryside with walks on your doorstep and within easy reach of many popular towns, Wells, Glastonbury, Frome and Bruton. Walk to the local pub or enjoy the large outdoor garden and courtyard that Wheelwrights has. A perfect break in the Somerset countryside. The house is also a 10 minute drive from Glastonbury Festival site. Wheelwrights is an old cottage with a renovated barn attached to it. Giving you both a comfortable, bright and open modern space combined with lots of character and traditional features from the old cottage. On the ground floor you have a large sitting/dining room that has large double doors that open out onto the courtyard. A beautiful room that gets flooded with sunlight on a summers day and is perfect for families and children that like to play inside and out. The other side of the courtyard leads back into the house via the double doors of the kitchen. A brand new renovated kitchen with all new amenities. This is a great open space for socialising, whilst cooking inside and barbecuing in the courtyard. There is also a snug sitting room with sofas, television and a log burner for those cosy evenings. Please note the television is only set up for casting from another device. Upstairs has 2 double bedrooms and 1 single. There is 2 new bathrooms on this floor also. One with a walk in shower and toilet and another with a toilet and large bath.
Croscombe is a lovely quiet village. It has a local pub called The George, a 4 minute walk from the cottage. The George serves great food, local beers and also provides takeaways. It also serves as a small village shop from which you can buy the basics.
It takes 45 minutes to walk to Wells from Croscombe, a lovely countryside walk along footpaths. Entering Wells alongside The Bishops Palace. Wells is well worth a visit. Highlights include The Cathedral, Vicars Close and Bishops Palace gardens. There is a popular farmers market every Wednesday and Saturday and many shops to be enjoyed.

The Bishops Eye- Sharing boards and great wine. A good spot to enjoy the sunshine with tables outside in the market place.

Da Lucianos- Brilliant authentic Italian restaurant and takeaway.
Fattso- Award winning burger takeaway.
Ajwa- Good Indian takeaway.

Bruton: Hauser and Wirth Gallery including Roth Bar and Grill (Great place to wander the gallery and gardens. Good food and cocktails. Also a great farm shop here.) The Chapel (good bakery and pizzas.)

There are lots of lovely walks to do from Croscombe. If you walk out of the drive and cross over the road, turn right and walk up the narrow path on your left. Coming out onto Fayre Way turn right and walk past the Village Hall and park. Keep going until you reach the style on your left. Head up the hill and follow signs for the West Mendip Way. This route gives you many different walking options of different lengths to really enjoy the Mendip Hills.
There are other great places to find nice local walks including Priddy, Stock Hill Woods and Glastonbury Tor.

Bus routes available from Croscombe. The 174 will you take into Wells one way and Shepton Mallet the other way. It goes to Bath if you want to go further afield without the hassle of parking.
