The Longfellow neighborhood of North Oakland is located at the geographical center of the Bay Area just a couple miles from the Bay Bridge. We have the Temescal 3 blocks away, Berkeley a few miles up the road, Emeryville blocks away, and downtown Oakland/ Lake Merritt also just minutes away. MacArthur BART is only three blocks away 1-2 minutes by car - SF is only 4 bart stops just across the bay bridge. We love the location, diversity and especially our neighbors!
If you have a car we are blocks from accessing all major East Bay highways like I580, Hwy 24, I80 and the bay bridge. You can't find a more convenient location!

Getting around
Location, Location Location! We are located in North Oakland near the Oakland/Berkeley border.
EASY PARKING: Park In our driveway in our own space, or in front of our house. (the 2 hour parking sign in front is not enforced) more parking details under other things to note
BART
From our house only 3 blocks walk to Macarthur BART station, Take a Lyft or Uber at if your in a hurry, have suitcases, or at night, and arrive in 1-2 minutes!
Be in San Francisco in - 4 Bart stops (roughly 20 minutes)
Downtown Oakland in 8 minutes - 1-2 Bart Stops
UC Berkeley Campus, only 3 miles away, in less then 10 minutes - 2 Bart Stops (Downtown/Berkeley station)
Great for parents and family visiting!
FREEWAY ACCESS
Quick and Easy Freeway access: San Francisco, Napa Valley, San Jose, Marin County, and Silicon Valley etc.
BIKE RENTAL: ford bikes only 1 block away (West and 40th) another rental 2 bocks on (Market and 40th)
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR GETTING AROUND
Taking BART - very close and convenient!
Using LYFT and UBER for getting around. Parking is easy in our neighborhood but can be a pain in other areas you may be visiting. Send me a message if you have questions. There is also a ride share option that makes it very affordable.
AT NIGHT
We are in the city so at night take a 1-2 minute taxi from BART to our place. (there are always a few waiting out front)
Full Disclosure: I feel safe walking, my husband Barts to work every day, and have never had any issues. If you used to living in an Urban environment, no problem walking is totally fine. Otherwise, if your not take a quick Taxi, Lyft or Uber back. As with any city best to always play it safe, especially after dark!. It is easy, affordable and quick so why not have peace of mind.
We love our central neighborhood, it is diverse, and vibrant, a great central jump off to explore SF, Oakland and Berkeley. Here you will find quick, safe, and convenient access to the best the Bay has to offer.
