Quiet and peaceful cottage in the Makarora Valley with close access to walking tracks ..jet boats, helicopter rides,Siberia Experience and the Blue Pools. Beautiful mountain views. Five minutes to boat ramp,lake or Makarora river.Great fishing for salmon or trout in season. No street lights, clear skys, no noise. Half way between Queenstown and Fox Glacier. ..45 minutes to Wanaka.

Cosy and comfortable, with interesting furniture and geological knivk knacks. Loved the bed as well. Very helpful hosts, they specially went out and got us firewood even though their supplies had not yet come in
super lovely stay! We felt comfortable and right at home! The best stay in the whole trip until now, if you can book it, do it :)

The cottage is located in a very tiny village.
There are no shops.
There is a great cafe with fabulous food 5 Kms towards the west coast. They are open 9 am till 2 pm.Makarora Country Cafe.
Also in the same direction but approx 8 Kms away is a cafe/ pub/ full meals. It's called Wonderland.Open 9am till 9 pm.
They also have a very small selection of groceries to purchase.
Both places are licensed to sell alcohol. Both are very popular with locals and worth a visit.
