The Cottage is a historic gem with preserved original features, including exposed beams and cosy fireplaces. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Relax and unwind in the Hot Tub, and enjoy a comfortable and memorable stay :) Located in Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, our accommodation offers a tranquil environment while being close to attractions like Blackpool. Nearby towns, beaches, and dining options are easily accessible. We kindly ask guests to read the listing and house rules to ensure the cottage meets their needs and expectations. The house price is based on the total number of guests, so please provide guest details when inquiring. For immediate answers to frequently asked questions, please refer to our FAQs under 'Other things to Note' below. *Please note for one night stays which are rarely available we can only accept couples and small family groups of 4/5. Our Balinese-inspired back garden features a waterfall, while the front garden offers a typical English countryside setting. Inside the cottage, you'll find a blend of traditional and modern elements. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at an additional cost of £10. The Cottage is ideal for families, small groups, couples, and workers. It features a large farmhouse-inspired kitchen, (please ask us if you would like the AGA on on the winter months) a cosy dining room with booth seating, and a reception area with comfortable seating and a fireplace. The Master Bedroom has a double four-poster bed with an en-suite and slipper bath. The second bedroom offers a king-size sleigh bed and access to a private courtyard garden. The third bedroom is smaller and has a loft bed suitable for children or small adults. There's also a shower room and utility room for storage. Outside, you'll find a 5-person hot tub on the decking and a Balinese-inspired garden. *There is an option to increase the guest amount to 10 guests with the addition of the Tiny house annexe in the garden that can sleep up to 5 extra guests. Such a lovely hidden gem of a house. Fell in love as soon as we stepped into the cottage. Couldn't fault it at all.
We knew to expect something special after looking at the photos of the cottage but upon arrival were amazed with its beauty. Richard was there for a friendly arrival, a tour of the cottage and a fabulous description of its history. The attention to detail is second to none, we are mid renovation ourselves and now have some kitchen inspo! :-) The hot tub is a wonderful addition and we’re already planning our next trip with friends/family to join in the tiny house in the garden. Located in the heart of Thornton-Cleveleys, a charming residential town situated between Blackpool, Fleetwood, and the Irish Sea, our neighbourhood offers the perfect blend of convenience and tranquility. While the village can be bustling during the day, it transforms into a peaceful and serene haven at night. You'll find our location to be incredibly peaceful and private once you step inside the cottage and explore the garden area. The friendly nature of our neighbours adds to the welcoming atmosphere, as everyone in the area loves our cottage!
There are numerous amenities within walking distance, including convenience stores, shops, pubs, and restaurants. Just a 10-minute walk away is the historic Marsh Mill Windmill, which houses delightful boutique shops, a recently refurbished pub called The Tavern (known for its great carvery), and a Michelin recommended restaurant named Twelve. At the end of the road, there's a traditional local pub called The Sandyforth Arms, where you can enjoy watching sports and have a few drinks. Additionally, you'll find a Thai takeaway, fish and chip shops, a Chinese restaurant, and an Indian restaurant, all within easy walking distance.
If you have a car, you'll find it easy to reach nearby destinations such as Lytham St Annes, Poulton-Le-Fylde, Knott End, and the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Lake District. Our location also serves as a fantastic base for exploring the famous Blackpool attractions, including Blackpool Tower, The Sandcastle, Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Illuminations, Blackpool Zoo, and the award-winning Stanley Park. Furthermore, you won't want to miss the Cleveleys Car Show, Blackpool Air Show, and the renowned Fleetwood Tram Sunday. Transportation options are convenient and easily accessible in the area. If you prefer taxis, they are readily available for your transportation needs. Additionally, a short 5-minute walk will take you to the nearby bus stop, where you can catch a bus (number 14) that will take you directly into Blackpool. Alternatively, you can take a bus to Cleveleys and hop on a tram that will transport you to Blackpool or Fleetwood. For guests travelling by car, we provide parking space for 2 to 3 cars, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
The closest train stations to our cottage are Poulton-Le-Fylde and Blackpool North, offering convenient rail connections to various destinations. If you are arriving by air, the nearest airports are Liverpool Airport and Manchester Airport, both of which provide excellent transportation links. For those travelling by car, the nearest motorway is the M55, ensuring easy access to and from our location.
