Cabin/Tiny Home. Enjoy amazing mtn. views, sunsets, 200 acres of trails, woods, pastures, farm, & fields. We have 3/4 of a mile of river frontage on the N. Toe River, marked by bluffs, rapids, beach, waterfalls & swimming hole for you to enjoy! Take a tour to learn about our property & the critically endangered Arapawa goats that we are helping to breed pack into population. You can visit the goats, horses & hike miles of 9 distinct hiking trails on the property with the detailed map we provide! The cabin has one bedroom with a double bed and a connected bathroom (bathroom in the bedroom), an open loft (above the living room) with two single memory foam mattress beds. A mini-split for heat and ac all year round. An extra portable infrared heater in bedroom all year round. A propane fireplace, turned on seasonally from October 1st through May 1st. A full kitchen with all cooking and eating utensils provided as well as oil & most spices! Eggs are provided seasonally when chickens are laying (they don't lay a lot in colder weather), mints, water, tea, ground coffee & popcorn to get you started! Outside there is a fire pit (we provide firewood, lighter fluid and a lighter), a propane grill and plenty of lounging space!

Peirce and Deena go out of their way to make your trip special and enjoyable, from tours of their farm to bringing you fresh food, and being incredibly attentive to anything you may need. This trip was wonderful and I'm so excited to go back.
Our stay at Deena and Peirce's Airbnb was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we arrived, their warm hospitality made us feel right at home. They were incredibly accommodating, offering helpful recommendations and always being just a message away whenever we needed assistance. The Airbnb itself was cozy and inviting. We loved the bonfire area and are thankful Deena and Peirce provided us with wood and all the supplies necessary to start the fire. Deena and Peirce's suggestions led us to discover the Homeplace Brewery in Burnsville, a hidden gem that quickly became one of our favorite spots. The local charm and delicious brews made for an authentic experience that we'll cherish. We also enjoyed hiking Carver's Gap. It was an easy hike with views of North Carolina and Tennessee at the top. We highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a memorable getaway in a welcoming environment!
The cabin was exactly as described in listing. It sits back off any main road so very peaceful. Nicely marked trails to hike right at the cabin. There was a map of the trails also to follow. Some great mamma and poppa restaurants within 30 minutes of the cabin. Any questions or concerns I had I messaged the host and they were quick to respond. I would definitely go back to the cabin again
That place was awesome! We lived hiking on the trails and we had one of the neighborhood dogs lead the way on 3.6 miles of trails! So fun!
Loved being able to see the area and explore the mountain. Way back in the sticks not super close to town but thats kinda what I liked. Very curvy mountain roads getting there. What I liked. Friendly owners. Exactly as described. Thanks very much for having us.

The town of Burnsville with restaurants, groceries, shopping and more less than 30 minutes away (15 Miles). Asheville is a one hour drive, Boone is one hour and 30 minutes away. The Appalachian Trail is 15 miles away. Mount Mitchell, the highest peak in the Eastern United States and of the Appalachian Mountains, is one hour along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The closest Blue Ridge Parkway entrance is 20 minutes.

We purchased this property in 2001 and as of right now “The Farm” consists of 200 acres and 10 miles of marked hiking trails (map provided) through woods, pastures, fields, farmland in a pristine mountain setting,. A mile of river frontage on the North Toe River, marked by bluffs, rapids, beach, waterfalls and a swimming hole. The river is a 30 minute moderate hike from our rental properties, "The Mountain House, “The Cottage” & “The Cabin”, our home, several outbuildings for goats, a horse barn, a well house, a chicken coop & several dogs. We have plans in the future to make this property into an eco-friendly environment & conservation sanctuary with more trails, cabins, animals and even a general store. Right now we raise endangered Arapawa Goats and are in the process of helping to breed this almost extinct goat back into population, as well as eventually provide products from their milk. As owners we want to ensure that you have a great vacation. We know how hard you work and want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We fell in love with the mountains of NC and our wish is that you do as well! We wanted to build a property that will be here for our future generations and we hope that you and your future generations will continue to come back as well. If there is any information about the property that you don't find above or on our listing please ask!! If there is anything special you'd like to ask, just ask! Sometimes we are limited by technology and can't put some info on the site, but we are a pretty nice, friendly couple and want you to be comfortable :-)
