We have 2 queen beds, 1 double bed and a 3/4 bed. The 3/4 bed can sleep 1 adult or 2 small children comfortably. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare all the local seafood you can eat including seafood utensils. We do sanitize everything between guests but can not be held responsible for those with shellfish allergies. Please consider this when visiting. Outside is lounge area with fire pit, a dining table and of course a grill for summer cookouts. We have corn hole and lawn dominos for afternoon fun as well. We have fun interactive features including a bucket list, maritime trivia, playlists, picnic supplies and more to enhance and make the most of your experience with us. We also include a season park pass with your stay so the whole family can explore without waiting in any lines or paying any additional fees. We are 10 minutes from whale watching, local seafood restaurants and all Cheticamp has to offer. We are also only 10 minutes from the famous Gypsum Mines swimming hole and hiking area. At the end of the road, just across the Cabot Trail is Cheticamp Island Beach just a short 2 minute drive where you can walk along the shores while staring at the highlands, or even stop for a picnic. PET FRIENDLY - We are pet friendly and do not have size restrictions for animals. Max 2 pets. We dog dishes, paw towels, treats etc. We also have a tie up out back so no dogs wonder too far (the yard is not fenced). Pets must be specified in your reservation so we can let our cleaning team know to leave out proper supplies. Pets are allowed on furniture but it MUST be covered with our covers/blankets provided or you can bring your own. Violation of this and ruining of furniture may result in a $100 cleaning fee. All droppings to be collected upon checkout by guest/pet owner. The property has served many purposes over the years. Originally the farmhouse that housed the family who farmed the surrounding land. It was later used as a schoolhouse when the local school burnt down. The teacher resided here and ended up teaching all the students in her home. The trees on the property are planted by those very children. You may also hear it referred to as 'the bootleggers house' where people gathered to drink when bootlegging was popular. Things to Note : No Dishwasher or Air Conditioning. The property does not have air conditioning at this time but Cape Breton is known for its sea breezes. With the windows open we almost always have an amazing breeze. We do provide fans as well. The property does sit on a road that has some traffic and can be a bit noisy at times due to the trucks. Cape Breton is not built up like other places and does not have as many alternate routes. We are adding some trees and landscaping to help combat this but it likely not help for a few years yet while they get established. We recommend sleeping with the fan on if you feel the cars may be an issue for you, this drowns out the noise if they do go by in the night/early morning.
