Casa Arenosa was fantastic. The property was beautiful and well appointed. Loved the separation of spaces! Super fun house to entertain- with a lot great spaces for people to gather with cushy, comfortable outdoor furniture. The plunge pool was a major highlight especially because it was in the high 80s and 90s the whole time we were in Matapalo. Being directly on Backwash was so convenient. We swam and watched surfers there everyday. And for our family of beginner surfers, we took the trail that cuts directly from Backwash to Pan Dulce for easy back and forth to get the easier surf break. It was perfect for our family. We moved from one house in Matapalo to this one because it wasn't available the whole time and Chiky, the caretaker, made that very easy for us to do. He had the property ready right away and we were able to move from one house to the other with no issues. We will definitely be back!

A beautiful area and a house completely a part of the amazingly green natural surroundings. We choose this area for the wildlife and definitely exceeded our expectations - lots of monkeys swinging in the trees, a coati, sloth, scarlet macaws… Chiky led us on a hike and he is the nicest kindest man. The house worked well for our family of 5 and we had an amazing trip!

We love this jungle house at the beach! You have a front-row view of nature and animals all day, with a pristine beach in the backyard. This was our third stay in this home, but this was the first time we shared it with another family. The couple who stayed downstairs did not find the bedroom as comfortable and there is less privacy. However, this is an incredible place to be, and the caretaker is terrific. The home may work best for one family or just a couple.

This is a beautiful, spacious home. It’s location is literally a few steps from the beach with wildlife all around. The kitchen area is well stocked and has a professional gas stove. We slept upstairs and the bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our time at this amazing location. Sandy answered all of our questions, and was very helpful!

What a beautiful house and location surrounded by nature! It is very private yet you just walk in front of the trees in front of the house and there is a beautiful beach almost to yourself. Sleeping to the sound of cicadas and waves lulls you to sleep and then you wake to macaws and jungle sounds! We did see insects but surprisingly they don’t bite and some of them were actually interesting to see. Sandy was a wonderful host and very responsive. Chiky, the caregiver was incredibly helpful and so sweet. He took us on a nature walk where we saw 3 kinds of monkeys, a sloth and other animals! He also arranged a wonderful massage with Marcella which was one of the best we’ve ever had. The hardest part of the trip was leaving! Would definitely recommend!
