Some of the many things to do include the popular walk to Stoodley Pike, the monument is a stone obelisk monument erected in 1856 to mark the end of the Crimean War. It sits atop a 1,300-foot (396 m) hill and commands attention for miles around. It's a pleasant walk up Stoodley Pike and you are treated to breathtaking views from the summit ridge over Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and the Calder Valley.
The Wizard of Whirlaw and Bridestones, the huge weathered stones, with their fascinating shapes, have a great view of the landscape.
Gaddings Dam, is popular for its panoramic views and hiking trails, it features sandy banks that make it a popular spot for wild swimming.
Centre Vale Park, is a lovely large park, with a skate park, football pitches, bowling green, children’s play area and woodland to explore.
Gorpley Clough, is a Local Nature Reserve and Geological Trail. This is a lovely steep sided wooded valley with series of waterfalls along a tumbling upland stream, a natural gem tucked away. There is a reservoir with a dam at the top on open moorland . A great spot for nature watching and having a picnic.
Hard castle Crags, encompasses deep rocky ravines, tumbling streams, oak, beech and pine woods and some of the best examples of upland meadows in the country. Gibson Mill is situated within Hardcastle Crags woodland beside Hebden Water.
The National Trust have put in some superb walking routes suitable for all abilities. Cross the river on stepping stones, spot birds, and if you’re lucky; deer! You’ll find Hardcastle Crags offers a completely different experience throughout the year – from the icicles of midwinter to the carpet of bluebells in the spring.
Todmorden Town Hall, with its fantastic architecture of this Grade 1 listed building, is considered to be one of the finest municipal buildings in the country.
Todmorden Markets, consist of an indoor market held in the Public Market Hall and an outdoor open air market held to the front of the Public Market Hall in central Todmorden adjacent to the Town Hall. The outdoor market is open 9.00am to 4.00pm Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Thursday is exclusively a second hand market whereas Sunday is a mix of general retail and second hand goods.

Hebden Bridge, is a pretty Market Town. Popular with artisans, full of galleries, has a bohemian feel, and has been voted as the “fourth funkiest Town” in the World.
Heptonstall, the weavers’ village of Heptonstall sits on top of a steep hill overlooking Hebden Bridge.
The cobbled lanes have remained unchanged for around 200 years. With two pubs and a small post office, this tiny village is popular with walkers and is regarded as one of Yorkshire’s best kept secrets.
The Piece Hall, is unique- a Grade I listed Georgian masterpiece and the oldest remaining Georgian cloth hall in the world! Standing at the heart of Halifax (just a 20 minute train journey from Todmorden) since 1779, the huge open-air courtyard is today surrounded by unique and boutique independent  shops, bars, cafes and a restaurant. The central courtyard is a spectacular venue for year-round events programme of live music, dance, and film.
Haworth, home of the famous Brontë sisters, (a picturesque 30 minute drive away) Haworth is an undisputed literary mecca, attracting visitors from all around the world. With its historic cobbled Main Street, iconic parsonage and rolling moors, the picturesque proportions of this Airedale village exude a vintage charm that makes you feel you’ve stepped into another era.

By Car:
Todmorden can be reached from several motorways: the M62, M1, M6 and M65. From the M62 eastbound please leave at junction 21 and junction 24 westbound. From the M65 you may leave at junctions 9,10 or 11.
For sat nav users the postcode OL14 5AJ should direct you to the central car park on Bramsche Square.
By Rail:
There are regular train services to and from Manchester Victoria, Leeds, Blackburn and Chester. They run approximately every 30 minutes, Monday to Saturday and every hour on Sundays. For timetable information please see the National Rail Enquiries website.
By Bus:
There are regular bus services from Halifax and Rochdale running approximately every 30 minutes. Buses to and from Burnley run approximately every hour. Please see timetable information for routes 589, 590 and 592. Another option is the no. 7 bus operated by Rosso that travels to Rawtenstall via Bacup.
By Coach:
There are regular National Express services to nearby towns, such as Halifax or Burnley. Public transport links can then be utilised for the trip into Todmorden itself. Please contact National Express directly for more information.
By Air:
