The Shire is a fabulous Grade 2 Listed thatched cottage in the historic village of Haslingfield. Its Ideal for walking or cycling to the local river, or country footpaths that join to our neighbouring villages. Haslingfield is a 10 minute drive from the famous village of Grantchester and only 15/20 minute drive to Cambridge, where you have all the world famous colleges/shops and history. While hosting is new to me, my girlfriend has been a super host for 7 years: I’m an experienced host by proxy The property has only just been renovated so all the amenities are modern including a new kitchen, wifi, smart televisions, modern shower and toilet, large double bedroom. There is also a new patio that is perfect in the summer for your morning breakfast. We are also very lucky to be surrounded by nature and wildlife on our doorstep. We have a large garden with 2 large walnut trees and seating area at the bottom of the garden to escape the stresses of everyday life. If you're lucky you may see the muntjac deer, foxes, abundance of birdlife and pheasants. The bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. As it's an old cottage the stairs are a little squeaky but it's all part of the charm of a 1700 building. Please note that the Shire is a small and quiet place to stay. Its certainly not a place for parties and as this is my home I ask in advance that people that stay are conscious about respecting the neighbours, usual legal watershed of no loud music preferably after 2200 if possible but legally after 2300.
