Peaceful retreat. Cozy up by the woodstove in your one-room (but it's a LARGE room) cabin, then wake up and explore nearby hiking (Mt. Rainier 30 minutes away; other hikes walking distance from the front door). Fish, paddleboard, and kayak on nearby Mineral Lake. Enjoy long days outside knowing that you have a cozy oasis home base. This cabin offers the perfect getaway for the active explorer and tranquil homebody alike. This one-room cabin at the center of five beautiful acres, and we truly have it all. With gardens, a frog pond, year-round creek, open meadows and cool woodlands, you'll find every micro-ecosystem imaginable. Fresh eggs? You got it. The cabin has running water (cold only) indoors, and a flush-toilet outhouse (+ an indoor potty so no one has to go outside for their midnight pee). Simple kitchen cooking facilities (toaster oven, butane burner, electric kettle, fridge/freezer) complement a gorgeous new woodstove for maximum coziness. I'm just starting to rent this out, and in a trial period. I want to share this life I've come to love (I'm a transplanted city girl.) Curious to hear what you think!

We had a wonderful stay at Margot's cabin. It was extremely clean and comfortable, and we appreciated how peaceful and quiet the surroundings were. Margot was very communicative and we felt very well taken care of during our trip. The bed was comfy and we were able to cook full meals using the kitchen equipment. Would highly recommend!
Margot was an amazing host. We really enjoyed our stay near Mount Rainier on our cozy cabin. Always careful and responsive to whatever issue / question you may have. It's really worth every penny to be able to stay here if you are looking for something private and calm.
This is the cutest cabin and campsite in Washington! Perfect for a private stay in the mountains and streams near Mt. Rainier National Park. Margot was very kind and accommodating, and truly loves sharing her space and love for the outdoors. I will definitely be staying here again next time I’m in town!
We loved our stay at Margot's cabin. It was rustic and relaxing, just what we needed! Make sure you read the description to make sure it is the right stay for you, we loved it but it might not be for everyone (outhouse, wood burning stove, etc). Margot was a great host, super welcoming and helpful. She was very responsive and has the cabin equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay.

While many of our guests spend their days hiking beautiful Mount Rainier, there's also plenty of good outdoors right on the property, and a terrific woodland hike just past the end of our lane. It's gentle for the first mile, then slopes up and and affords some great views of the Mountain.
You'll be an easy bike ride (1 flat mile) from Mineral Lake (the town of Mineral has a great biker bar and a small grocery). A few miles from the towns of Morton and Elbe.
Elbe has one of the best hamburgers you will ever eat - the Boinker Burger, which has -- we know it sounds gross -- both bacon *and* peanut butter. And Rivers down in Morton has tons of tasty options for the veggie and gluten-free.
There's plenty of parking on site.

Margot is your basic decent person - worked in high tech up until the pandemic (THANKS, COVID), writer, mother of three grown kids. She bites her nails, but does not cheat at Scrabble or break other people's things. I've been hosting since 2012 - first in Seattle, and now I have this land outside the city - one space where I've been since 2020, and one I've just bought with my family. Love to share these outdoor spaces with you!
