We were to check in on the day when a major storm was expected and Jose was very proactive in communicating and flexible in offering additional stay dates in case we were delayed. We have stayed at Jose's place over Christmas for the last 4 years and each year we return with incredible memories!

A very unique place to stay! Nicely updated inside, while still being an old building full of character. Sitting in the living room or on the deck and watching the water flow through the river below is an amazing, relaxing experience.

Very rustic and unique, many historical artifacts around the house. Great location, good fishing area around Batta Island. Not as dusty as reviewers said, as my mom and I both have severe dust allergies but we were both ok. There were many flies inside the house though (my son caught 30+) and there are cobwebs everywhere which doesn't make sense as we pay a reasonable cleaning fee. My mom literally went around cleaning windows and sweeping the porch/deck. Was hoping Jose would be more helpful with the pizza dough and on how to use the wood fired pizza oven because guests in the past have said he gave them detailed instructions but he literally just told me to find a recipe and how to use the oven online. It took us a few tries before getting it right so do your research ahead of time. The ping pong table was a plus. Kitchen is well stocked (bring your own measuring spoons) and everything was clean enough. I just felt there was no comfortable place to sit in the main room without the fan blowing right at your head (the fans had to stay on because there's no air conditioning) and the sofas have poor support. Shower curtain in the ensuite was moldy and the tub doesn't drain properly so the six of us had to line up to the shower in the hallway. I absolutely agree with previous reviews saying the property has a lot of potential but needs more love.

We had a great time at the Stockdale Mill. It’s a very large rustic house with lots of space. Loved the sound of the waterfall while relaxing on the deck and the beautiful view by the fire pit. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals. We even got to try our hand at using the wood burning pizza oven. We played ping pong and foosball in the main room and these weren’t even mentioned in the amenities. I would love to come back again. I would recommend!

We had an amazing stay, the place is beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed. Would absolutely stay there again!
