This is a hidden gem! We had an amazing weekend and the pictures don’t do it Justice. This is such a charming cottage with lots of history and we felt right at home. It was very peaceful with stunning surroundings and lots for kids to do too. Sunsets were absolutely gorgeous! We enjoyed swimming, bonfires, stargazing, playing badminton on the large yard and reading while watching the swans go by. It’s also very close to a charming town. We visited the Ferris Provincial park suspension bridge, the local bakery (Doohers donuts were amazing!) and took the kids to see the giant toonie in the park. It’s a well thought out large property with a clean bathroom, comfy beds, local recommendations and waterfront access. Was expecting the water to have a scent but we barely noticed it. We are leaving recharged. If you’re considering booking- just do it! You won’t regret it. We are so thankful to have found this place. Thank you Donna and Deb for a wonderful stay. We’ll be back.
The accommodation was super cozy and Donna and Deb very helpful. We could relax very well and do a lot. Negative was the water qualtity of the tap, even after days of use it still smelled like sulfur. And we had to drive our garbage to the disposal ourselves at the end and had to pay for it. Has never happened to us in all our accommodations (about 25 before). Too bad and was an extra money and time expense for us. Nevertheless, absolute recommendation for total relaxation.
The cottage was amazing. Lots of thought went into the care of the entire property. It was so close to the water with amazing views from the inside. Town was super close too, which made picking up anything we left behind east, as well as going out for a meal too. Donna was very fast to respond and extremely helpful and courteous. We can’t wait to visit again.
Overall great stay, good location, very quiet, marina was close. The town was also close to do some shopping! Although the geese loved the dock, we managed to clean it off every day :) Old and rustic but had some amazing charm and you could feel the love in the house :)
We had an absolutely fabulous time. The cottage was beautiful and extremely clean. Even better in person then the pictures. The hosts were absolutely splendid. They were very responsive and were great to communicate with. We wanted to rent kayaks for a day and they provided us with a referral for someone who even dropped them off and picked them up. We mentioned how much our family loves playing badminton, they set up badminton court for us to play on! The fishing is FANTASTIC HERE. Even just from the dock you will catch pike, walleye and bass often. Fishing is good at any time of the day or night. We fished multiple times a day. Watching the sunset over the lake was stunning. We would get up every morning and sit out on that dock with a nice hot coffee and just enjoy the view over the water. I would highly recommend staying here, it is well worth the price. We felt right at home here and enjoyed our week. Definitely hope to come back for our annual family vacation next summer.
On a quiet bay on the Trent River between lock 7 and 8. Located on a "no exit" road, the community of permanent residents and cottagers enjoy the serenity of Bradley Bay.
There's plenty of parking on the boulevard. Please do not drive onto the property for any reason. A boat launch is available at the end of the road.
