Our cosy, Olde Chemist cottage is neatly tucked away in the centre of the historic village of Burford, gateway to the Cotswolds. The local area is steeped in history and is considered one of the most picturesque towns in England. You will find convenience at your doorstep with our central location, just a stone's throw from the main High Street, shops, restaurants, and pubs. The perfect place to stay as a base to explore the area, with many places to visit. Filled with unique character and history, the construction of the building can be dated back to 1401. Olde Chemist cottage sits behind England's Oldest Chemist. As you walk through the doors of the cottage, you are drawn to a spacious hallway, with exposed beams and Cotswolds charm. The kitchen is spacious, bright and well equipped. Housing an electric oven and hob, microwave, toaster and kettle; there is plenty of worktop space to prepare meals. There is also a separate dining room next to the kitchen for meal times. Upstairs, the sitting room is bright and spacious complete with sofas, a sofa bed and a TV for your entertainment. The open plan office area is the ideal tranquil spot to get lost in a good book or catch up with some work. The main bedroom houses a double bed and ensuite, consisting of a bath, basin, toilet and shower. A travel cot is available on request. At the rear of the cottage, guests also have access to our garden area complete with patio and a lawn. It’s a nice space to enjoy the warmth of the summer sunshine well into the evening.
