A beautiful quiet street, just minutes walk from High Street, Northcote, one of Melbourne’s oldest and best-established highs streets with great restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.
Mornings can be spent in any of a number of delicious cafes - a personal favourite of mine is the small French café, “Café Flo”, that serve galettes with any kind of fillings you can think of.
You will be spoilt for choice with the restaurants on High street, from Thai (Som Tam, Thai Tiki Hut), the heart warming Pho of Lâm Lâm, as well as Japanese, Israeli, Tibetan, and of course, some great pub grub.
If you fancy a night in, the famous Psarakos Market is around the corner, with great fresh produce, butchers, fishmongers and a Greek grocery store.
The night life on High Street has a variety of options depending on what you’re looking for – from small intimate bars like Kitty Somerset and The Thornbury Local, or large bar with rotating food trucks at Welcome to Thornbury.
Public transport is easily accessible and will drop you in the city in about 20 minutes. The number 11 tram is a 4 minute walk from home and passes through the famous Brunswick Street in Fitzroy (15 minute tram ride) on the way into the city. The train is a quick 7 minute walk and will drop you in the middle of the city.
