Located just off the famous Route 151, the house is conveniently situated near everything you could ask for in your mountain getaway. Whether you want to be adventurous and hike or ski, or take in the region's award-winning wineries and breweries, everything is just a few miles away. But when you're here, leaving will be the hardest thing to do! This spacious bright and airy home was just renovated to take full advantage of the jaw-dropping 360º views surrounding the property. In fact, every room has a view including the main living room which captures breathtaking sunrises and sunsets — all from the same seat! The house has all the amenities of modern living with the comforts of home — and some added luxuries. All 3 bedrooms are suites with private bathrooms (and include white noise sound machines!), making the layout perfect for multiple couples to share. The loft offers another cozy addition with a comfy queen pullout sofa bed. Those who love to cook will enjoy the spacious, modern kitchen that is well equipped with all stainless appliances and essentials to prepare a gourmet meal. Included are multi-piece cooking and baking sets, Dutch oven, food processor, crock pot, Instapot, blender and more. The open floor plan offers comfortable seating at the kitchen island and den so you can chat with others while cooking. The Vū, Afton has a Sonos sound system installed in the main living areas – both indoor and outdoor – so guests can play music throughout the house from a touch of a phone. And if remote work duties call, the fiber optic internet, dedicated workspace, external monitor and printer can help you quickly knock out those pesky work needs so you can get back to enjoying your getaway. And the porch! It’s our favorite place. We added an end-to-end deck with a large screened-in portion (which seats 10 comfortably), all overlooking a peaceful meadow that leads down to Williams Creek and beyond to Afton Mountain Vineyards. The porch/deck's west-facing orientation makes it the perfect location for taking in incredible sunsets behind Humpback, Dobie and Elk mountains. After the renovations, we were delighted to learn that the sunrises here are amazing too! As the sun rises, it casts fire-red lighting on the mountains while the meadows slowly awaken. We love to sit on the porch with coffee and watch the cows from the lower meadow mosey up to the fence line while bluebirds, robins and many other birds fly around. Don’t worry, we have included binoculars for bird watching! Lastly, and CERTAINLY not least, The Vū, Afton is situated in the best location, just off Route 151 — positioning guests close to all that Nelson and Albemarle counties have to offer. While here, you'll feel secluded in the Blue Ridge, yet you can have dinner and groceries delivered in from Waynesboro (and have your delivery person stop at Target on the way!).
