See our other listings for 180+ 5 star reviews! Weatherhead Hollow is a 1792 Vermont farmstead surrounded by rolling fields, ancient apple trees, and mountain views of the hollow. The Farmhouse at Weatherhead Hollow is a two-story historic house with a wrap-around porch that was fully renovated in 2016 to include all the modern amenities that make for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway. The home features 3 spacious bedrooms (two with cathedral ceilings), 2 bathrooms including a claw foot tub, a big farmhouse kitchen, multiple sitting rooms, exposed beams, hardwood floors, bespoke furnishings, and lots of colorful wallpaper and art. The four acre property also includes two Airbnb cottages, a fully restored Carriage Barn and renovated former Blacksmith Shop, plus a sprawling Barn. If you’d like to host more than eight guests – check out our other listings on our profile page (click on Katherine’s photo to view) and by comparing dates, you could book multiple Airbnbs to host up to 16 guests all on the same farmstead for a quintessential Vermont getaway with friends and family. Downstairs in the Farmhouse, you will enter into the mudroom where you can hang coats, store shoes (we try to be a shoe-free house!), and pass through to the large fully fenced in backyard with an outdoor table for dining alfresco, a big fire pit, and charcoal grill. The backyard is surrounded by rolling fields and has views of the hollow's mountains. Next is the kitchen with a gas stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, breakfast nook + neighboring lounge area with a Vizio V-Series 50" 4K Smart TV. Note that wifi is fast, and Verizon cell service is sporadic ranging from 1-2 bars. Also downstairs is a dining room, sun room, living room, and bathroom with clawfoot tub perfect for relaxing after a long day. Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms with cathedral ceilings and a bathroom with a large soapstone sink and red tiled shower with slate walls. One bedroom has a queen size bed and “witches stairs” that take you up to a sweet loft, and the other has a king size bed – both have luxurious plush soft Saatva mattresses and we provide NY Times’ favorite fancy bed and bath linens. Off the king size bedroom, you'll find a large walk-in closet with washer/dryer. The third bedroom is located in a finished portion of the basement down a staircase off of the dining room – it features a queen size bed + a comfortable fold out sofa-bed that is full sized in the lounge area. The Farmhouse is dog friendly with a fully fenced in backyard – we do ask that your dog is well behaved in new environments, and is up to date on all vaccinations and flea shots. When booking, please include your dog(s) in your reservation and message us about your dog(s). We limit the number of dogs in the Farmhouse to up to two dogs. Please note that there is another dog on the property and while he is socialized and friendly and will not go into your fenced in yard, if you have a dog that is not comfortable with the presence of other dogs, this is not the best place to book. If you are traveling with children, please note that the Farmhouse is not set up to be “child-proofed” – you will not find corner guards on tables or plugs for outlets or gates for the staircase, although every room that opens out to the staircases have doors that can easily be closed. We take cleaning very seriously – we still fully air out the farmhouse between rentals to ensure fresh air, and follow Airbnb's 5-step enhanced cleaning process. We do not use scented candles or scented air fresheners. On that note, the indoor fireplaces are purely decorative and therefore not to be used, but we do provide enough firewood to get you started in the outdoor fire pit under the stars.
