Firstly, very responsive host with clear instructions on how to get into the building. We were told parking was next door at the premier inn for £15, however this is max stay 12 hours so pretty useless. We parked elsewhere close by. The property is what it is, it could do with being renovated as it looks tired and everything has just been painted over in landlord white. Also there was a cigarette smell and cigarettes in an ashtray in the property. There was half eaten food in the fridge when we got there and clutter in storage spaces, it felt like we stayed in someone’s flat whilst they went away for the weekend. We were hit with a £20 fee at the end for leaving recycling bagged and boxed up by the door which we have done at over 20+ properties, after speaking with other hosts and airbnb they agree this is best practice and socially responsible. This unfortunately left a sour note on what was otherwise a very average stay.
