Hi everybody! My name is Sheree (and that's my husband Derek on the left in the photo). I'm an ex high school Geography teacher but until recently was teaching French in a local primary school and hosting mainly French (but also some international) students to teach them English and show them the many attractions and places of interest in our local area and beyond. We are also Guardians to overseas students studying at nearby independent colleges so our property complies with all gas and electrical annual inspections and carbon monoxide/smoke alarms safety requirements and we are fully DBS checked re safeguarding. Derek is an automotive quality engineer... I'd describe myself as chatty, personable and knowledgeable about the local area. I enjoy travelling and languages whilst Derek is very into cars and cycling. Our home is a few minutes away from the M42 and M5, as well as Bromsgrove train and bus stations. There are frequent services into Birmingham and Worcester for example. We are only 2 minutes walk from the Bromsgrove School and less than ten minutes to the centre of town, with shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés. There are two sports centres close by, with gyms, running tracks and a pool. It is possible to sign up online for a free one day membership at the Ryland Centre around the corner from the house. (£10 for a week). Our property is ideal for Monday to Friday business travellers looking for a base near Birmingham. We see our typical guest as someone who is working locally or with activities planned, AWAY from the house during the day. For insurance and security reasons we are unable to leave guests "home alone" with access to our property whilst we are out/at work ourselves. We do not issue keys to our home for that reason. We can offer evening meals if requested in advance for £5, the kitchen may be used to microwave/heat up take out food and make hot drinks. We don't offer use of the kitchen to prepared meals from scratch. Some refrigerator space can be made available, just ask in advance and I'll make sure there's room. Our check in/out times are normally 5-8pm and 9-10am so please ask if your requirements are any different and we will try to be flexible and accommodate your request if we can. We hope that you understand. Weekends are always busy with family and friends , sporting and leisure pursuits or hosting overseas students. Whilst they may not all be blocked on the Airbnb calendar, we prefer not to host on Friday and Saturday nights. Do ask but please do not be offended if we are not available to accommodate your proposed stay at weekends. Whilst the covid pandemic is still a global threat, we are requiring ALL guests to be double vaccinated and be able to show their certification as proof. That being said, we both thoroughly enjoy meeting new "friends" and would love to share our modern and comfortable home with you, should you feel co fident to book with us.
