Featuring more than 350 spacious square feet and extra high ceilings, it's like traveling back in time to turn of the century New York but with modern amenities! Unlock the door to your private studio space and enjoy the freedom to come, go, and stay as you please. >>> PLEASE NOTE: Due to the historic nature of the building, the bathroom is located in the right outside the studio entrance in the hallway and is *lightly shared.* Our trusted housekeeper, Samaira, occasionally uses this bathroom when staying in her bedroom at the front of the building, although she typically lives nearby with her family. Rarely, a closely trusted guest of Samaira's may also use the bathroom while visiting her. No one else has access to this facility, and for added privacy, the shower and toilet are in separate locking rooms. Our beloved housekeeper, Samaira, has been an integral part of our team for over a decade, ensuring our guests have the best possible experience. We consider her a cherished member of our extended family. <<< With a queen size bed and a new queen size sleeper sofa, small dining area, and a work desk, your studio is perfect for two or three guests but can accommodate up to four if both beds are shared. There's a wardrobe for closet space, and Wireless Internet is included. The studio has a private kitchenette, with refrigerator, hotplate for cooking, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and stocked with basic cookware and dining-ware.

♡ Everyone loves our address for the convenience of transit from here. We are so lucky to be located just four short blocks from the subway station with express trains that take you to Times Square 42nd Street in just ten minutes!
♡ Your favorite movies and television shows are often filming here because it's a classically picturesque New York neighborhood. Our brownstone is located just one block from Morningside Park – a beautiful outdoor haven of waterfalls and turtle ponds, and you can walk just ten minutes through Morningside Park to reach world famous Central Park (where you can immerse yourself in fifty blocks of pure nature).
♡ Birthplace of the Harlem Renaissance, our location is packed full of world-class restaurants, cafes, live Jazz clubs and historical attractions like the Apollo Theater! Despite outdated misconceptions about Harlem, rest assured that this neighborhood is exceedingly safe. (Not that it's needed, but it's nice to know our house happens to be located directly between a police station and a police academy within a block on either side of us). Our family has lived here peacefully and joyfully for more than twenty years.
It's a super short four-minute walk to the subway station at W 125th Street – and we're very fortunate to be on an express stop (the A, B, C, & D trains).
The A & D trains run express so you can get to 59th Street Columbus Circle without stopping in just 8 minutes, to Times Square 42nd Street in 10 minutes (only two stops), and just 25 minutes to downtown Manhattan including: West Village, Soho, World Trade Center. The major museums are only a 15 minute bus or subway ride away: The Met, The Museum of Natural History, Guggenheim, Moma, as well as shopping on Fifth Avenue! Plus, it's just 30 minutes to Brooklyn's trendy Williamsburg neighborhood.
From the airports you can take the A train directly here from JFK and take the M60 bus straight from LGA (or a 15 minute taxi ride).

+ Hi, I'm Marlyn! I'm grew up in New York City and I was a longtime resident of Woodstock, NY. I raised three kids there and it was a fantastic place to do so. I am an artist, as is my husband. We have set up our Manhattan home with studios for rent where we have long term tenants who are mostly professors and students of Columbia University, and each one has their own apartment here and everybody is private and respectful. + We are the Troy Family: Marlyn, David, Jacob, Rachel, & Samaira (our beloved housekeeper), and we offer you this private apartment inside our brownstone. + For our longterm residents in the building, this is our home, and we all know each other and look out for one another. Plus we love hosting people from all over the world. Airbnb has been such a joy for us! + We value our guests' independence, and since we have a full-time jobs, unfortunately we cannot welcome our guests in person as much as we would like to. Although you might not see us around much, someone will always be available just a phone call away to offer assistance and answer questions to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. + We're delighted to host your New York City adventure!
