It was a cherished tradition for families in the area to gather on Sundays and journey to Arenal Volcano to witness its flowing lava and revel in its natural splendor. These Sunday picnics were commonplace, and locals affectionately dubbed this spot the "lookout fields." In the 1980s, before any development took place, the customary route included a visit to the thermal spring river near Tabacon Resort, now affectionately known as "el Chollin," followed by a barbecue at the lookout fields that lasted until sunset. These memories from my childhood planted the seed of a dream within me: to one day create a tourism project in this very area. Today, I am thrilled to have turned that dream into reality.
