My stay at Hockwold Hall was nothing short of amazing. The farm animals were a welcome surprise with peacocks wandering around the gardens and meerkats in their enclosure. We were also lucky enough to see the northern lights on Friday night and a newborn baby goat on Saturday morning.

The house is oozing character and splendor. The photos show you the splendor, but the experience shows the character - it is obvious that this is an old and well used house over the centuries. We slept in a prince's bedroom, which was nice, but he didn't have central heating, electric lights, en-suite shower, and I'm not quite sure of the timeline but perhaps not a flushing toilet either. So we were way more comfortable than he ever was :) We had a long weekend and small family gathering at the house, and the style and ample space made it a real memorable treat for all. We met Richard (the host), nice and helpful, and as we left we met the cleaners who said how they enjoyed working on such a splendid building. The price was a lot for what we used of the venue (we did not fill all the bedrooms !!) but I am very happy about the stay and about supporting the preservation of such buildings as living entities.

Breathtaking building. The surrounding area is incredible. The building has so much character and there are many surprises which aren’t listed in the listing but I’ll leave that for you to look forward to! Thank you so much for an amazing stay!!!! All the bedrooms are so well designed. Really felt like royalty staying here!
