You can surf almost every day of the year, a paradise for surfers as well.
From the beach promenade, you are just a stone's throw from the Sagues breakwater to the east and the impressive Kursaal to the west. Crossing the Urumea River, the Alameda del Boulevard leads you to the Old Town, famous for its pintxo bars and gastronomic variety. From there you can head towards the city centre, where you will find the Buen Pastor Cathedral, where you can enjoy a varied commercial and cultural offer.

The city of San Sebastian is ideal for walking, its unique architecture, lively streets and promenades are well worth a visit. Instead, you can opt for the bus system, which is very well equipped and you will be able to get to every point of interest in the city in just a few minutes. We recommend visiting the Tourist Office on the Boulevard to get cheap transport tickets and information on the city's main activities.
You will also have the option of visiting surrounding cities by Renfe's Cercanías train at San Sebastian's main station and the Donostian topo (train) in the Amara neighbourhood. With both options, you can easily visit any charming village in the surrounding area to experience Basque culture first hand, and even go as far as Hendaye, France, in just half an hour's journey.
