Alternatively, you can also opt for a fast ferry ride from downtown Saigon, Bach Dang Pier. The ferry ride takes about an hour and takes you through the scenic Mekong River, making it quite an experience. The ferry service operates every 30 minutes and the fare is around 2$.
If you're planning to explore the city on your own, you might want to consider renting a motorbike for just 4$ per day. The journey from Saigon downtown to Tan Da is approximately 20 minutes long and mostly a linear route, making it an easy ride for beginners.
