A spacious self-catering property perched on the rugged coastline of the Aughrus peninsula, between Claddaghduff and Cleggan on Connemara's Wild Atlantic Way. Offering wonderful ocean, island and countryside views, this property offers guests a peaceful and private stay while enjoying the spectacular seaside location. Perfect for families and friends to share. The property is ideally situated just a short drive from Claddaghduff and Cleggan villages and is close to Aughrus beach and Omey Strand. The sea shore can be accessed from the property and the small inlet at the end of the garden offers sea swimmers an opportunity to take a dip just a few steps from the door and be back in the comforts of this wonderful property within seconds. The outdoor terrace is the perfect place to sit, relax and take in the ocean and island views. Wonderful sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed at this property, and its private location at the edge of the peninsula. The Aughrus peninsula and the surrounding coastline at Cleggan and Claddaghduff are dotted with beautiful white sandy beaches, all waiting to be explored. The tidal island of Omey is also nearby and can be accessed by car or by foot at low tide. The ferry to Inisbofin Island, a popular tourist location, is also located at Cleggan pier. This is a lovely experience for a day trip for family and friends. Connemara National Park is just 15 minutes by car and can be accessed from nearby Letterfrack village. The park boasts wonderful hill and woodland trails for all to enjoy. A little further along is Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Gardens which offer a wonderful experience for visitors. Boat tours are available close by at Killary Fjord and Letterfrack Bay. There are many more activities available in the region, including golf, fishing, hill walking, hiking, pony trekking, shooting and much more. Claddaghduff village offers a grocery store and a bar, and Cleggan village offers a grocery store, bars, restaurants, and cafés. Both villages can provide you with all you need for your self-catering stay. Clifden town can be reached within 15 minutes by car and hosts larger supermarkets, additional bars, restaurants, café's, shops and galleries. The accommodation in this spacious property is over two levels and consists of an entrance hall, a large, combined kitchen and dining room, a sitting room, six bedrooms, three bathrooms, a utility room, guest WC and reading space. Wi-fi is available and the property offers all modern conveniences. Ground Floor: Entry to the property is via the front door, which leads into the bright and spacious entrance hall. The living space, which includes kitchen, dining and living room area are to the left. This split-level space is very spacious with its high ceilings and clever layout. It is well furnished, includes a large stove, and offers wonderful ocean views from the large windows. The fitted kitchen includes all modern conveniences, such as dishwasher, cooker, hob, kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge/freezer. The dining area can comfortably seat all guests. The very spacious living area is accessed from the kitchen/dining area by descending 3 marble tiled steps. It is well furnished with large comfortable couches and armchairs which can easily seat all guests. The room features natural stonework, wide aspect windows, cathedral style ceiling with wooden beams, and a large stove. This is a perfect spot to relax and admire the wonderful ocean views and the wild Atlantic lapping against the rocks at the end of the garden. Multi-channel TV is available. Adjacent to the kitchen is a utility room with washing machine. The external deck and outdoor furniture can be directly accessed from this room. Further along the hall is a spacious guest WC. Three of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor and are accessed from the right of the entrance hall. Bedroom 1 is the master bedroom, with king size bed and large en-suite bathroom with shower, separate bath, WC and sink. This room is well furnished with wardrobes, drawers, lockers, and lamps. It features a large floor to ceiling window and reading area, just another space to admire the ocean views. Bedrooms 2 and 3 both have king beds, lockers and lamps, drawers and hanging space, and offer lovely countryside and sea views. A family bathroom with bath, WC, sink and separate shower, and a storage room, completes the ground floor accommodation. Upper Floor: The upper floor of the property includes three bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, WC and sink, and a large landing with a couch, an ideal spot for reading and relaxing. Bedroom 4 is a single bedroom, with storage and couch. Bedroom 5 is a large twin room with two single beds, storage, and a couch. Bedroom 6 is a large twin room with storage and a couch. The couch can convert into a double bed if required. All bedrooms in the property are carpeted. The external area of the property includes large lawned gardens and a sea-facing deck with outdoor furniture. BBQ available. The property is centrally heated throughout by an oil heating system. It includes underfloor heating on ground floor level, and radiators in all rooms on the upper floor. Heating, electricity, and Wi-Fi is included in the rental price. Bed linen and towels are provided. Travel cot and highchair are available. Charcoal BBQ is available for guests use. Smoking is not allowed. Pets welcome (maximum 2). Parking is available on site for up to three cars. Short breaks are available. A security deposit of €300 is required for this property.
